Virtual or Real Friends? .:. WorkerBee PH-Pool Week 136

avatar

Just a short preamble this time that doesn't have too much with this pool, but it has with HIVE... I got an interesting comment from @les90 on my post from yesterday about making "virtual" friends online... I suppose that the word "virtual" has more meaning when you connect it with friends and it can be understood in different ways...

What I have noticed a lot of time on HIVE (but also on some other social media networks) is that people treat each other differently ONLINE and OFFLINE... It could be that "power" that people get when they hide behind the keyboard, so they can say things to others that they would never do face to face, or it could be something else, but that's happening...

WorkerBee Pool 05.jpg
Created in Canva.com

It's like trying to make a distance between each other, not allowing others to get closer "to your circle"... In some extreme cases, people consider other participants on the network like NPC (non-personal-character), robots, or just servants that are doing something to please them... For example, IMO, every unrelated comment to your posts shows disrespect toward the author and we all saw examples of that... The commentator shows that doesn't care about you or your content, and he came just to benefit himself... To get an upvote, to collect a badge, to add 1 comment more to his "goal", to move on the leaderboard, etc. Maybe it sounds too harsh, but it is like that...

I have to say that I have met online dozens of people, through games, different forums, websites, and finally HIVE... A lot of them I have met "in real life" and believe me, they are NOT ROBOTS, they are living PERSONS like you... So, don't treat others as "virtual friends", treat them as FRIENDS!

Btw. I know that @les90 didn't mean that in the way I described, but that comment reminded me of some other cases that I experienced here on HIVE, but also at other "online places"...

Back to the Workerbeee report numbers!

In the 7 days, we didn't get new members in the pool... We got some new delegations from existing members! Thanks for your trust!

In the last 7 days, we mined 128 BEE tokens in total!!!

This POOL doesn't have fees and you get up to 20% MORE by delegating to it!

WorkerbeePHPool01.png
WorkerbeePHPool02.png

pg divider203.png

What about the bonus tokens?
One of the first games that I joined here on HIVE was dCity... The very first one was Splinterlands, but dCity was close to the top... I remember creating spreadsheets with details about citizens, different stats, prices of different buildings, etc... 😃 As time passed by, and the new look came out, I couldn't adapt to it... I suppose it's the "age issue"... lol... I didn't sell my assets and my city is still alive (probably in flames, with curfews over nights 😂) and I'm still earning some SIM tokens on the way... Today, I will share some of my tokens with you...

There will be distributed 35000 SIM tokens to the delegators of the pool as a bonus reward today!

WorkerbeePHPool03.png

As always, in the end, let's give the exact numbers for this week... There will be distributed 128 BEE tokens and 35000 SIM tokens as a bonus... The APR (without the bonus) was 6.723%, and when we added the bonus it went up to 8.129%!

I have calculated the ROI approximately with medium prices for all tokens at the moment of creating this post... So, those numbers are valid if you bought WB and sold BEE tokens at the middle HiveEngine price...

Do you want to sponsor the PH-Pool with your tokens, receive a short SPONSORED segment in this post, and raise awareness about your front-end or dApp? Please let me know in the comment section, or contact me through Discord or Twitter and we will find the best solution for both parties...

pg divider203.png

If you want to join the WorkerBee PH-Pool, the only thing that you have to do is to STAKE tokens to YOUR account and DELEGATE your staked WORKERBEE tokens to THIS account (@ph1102)! Every week you will get the portion of mined BEE tokens and BONUS rewards!

pg divider203.png

All payments will be made after publishing this post...

If you have any questions, please leave them in the comment section!

You can find more about this pool in the initial post here https://peakd.com/hive-119826/@ph1102/workerbee-p-h-ool-let-s-help-each-other

Thank you for your time,

~ph~

I think virtual make it easy for people to connect freely. It allows people to see beyond color, race and age. Honestly, we some of us were to see one another in the real life, i'm sure the approach will certainly be different. There are a lot of influential or should I say powerful whale or individual here that we connect or have privilege to communicate with that might be difficult to establish in the real life.

What you have described is the biggest problem... "Powerful whales" are also just humans like you and me, and it's only our perception that they are something more... That they are more valuable than someone else... Yes, they have a bigger stake on this platform, but that doesn't make them "bigger people"...

And you are right about a different approach when you meet someone in real life... I can say from my experience that I respect all people who are engaging with me, but meeting someone "in life" that creates an even more powerful bond...

Thanks for the comment!

I agreed with the fact that we have more stake doesn't mean that have more bigger people. Like you rightly said. It is more about perception and exposure too.

My experience is that many of my virtual friends are more real than those close to me. I can't say exactly how this happens, but there are many friends I've never seen in person, but I feel good with them, talking and interacting.

Here at Hive, there's no one from my city, maybe I'm the only hiver here, but I've made a lot of cool friends with members of the Brazilian community and I maintain a constant conversation, now the other people who have passed through my life, barely I talk to them.

Same here! It's often the case that our "old" friends went in some other direction, developing different interests... I know that I went hard into cryptocurrencies and had no "offline" friends to talk about that topic... So, I had to go online and find new ones... 😃

I went to other extremes, I talk more to some Hivers than to my parents... 🙂 It is a generation gap, but that's another topic...

We are very similar in this way haha, is there any soul connection? Practically my old friends, everyone I talked to about Hive didn't pay any attention, so I focused on that, creating new ties and bonds with people from Hive and it's been working really well!

Today it's already part of my routine, some I only talk to on discord, others I already have the number to talk to on WhatsApp or even on Facebook and Instagram, so they're really becoming part of my life.

Maybe... 🙂 But, it's normal that we search for people who share the same interests as us, and because of that, we make bonds easier than with people that we meet offline and have nothing in common...

With all these ways of communication that we have, the difference between ONLINE and OFFLINE is less and less visible... And that's the way it should be... My friend is a friend, doesn't matter how I met him/her, or how we communicate with each other...

This is true, no matter where the friendship came from, if it is true and is good for us, we should be grateful for it.

I don't have bad experiences with so-called virtual friends for the most part, in fact they are all the same to me. But it is true that I have less and less contact with friends in the real world. I don't know why, probably because the older I get, the less I socialize. It's easier virtually. :)
I think I should buy another miner, then distribute more BEE tokens elsewhere ... or buy BEE tokens directly. What do you say? 😎

Hahahaha... You should do the test... Meet some "online" friends in real life and check it out... If you are still OK, then it's not the age issue, but different interests, ways of living, etc.

Huh... I don't like to give financial advice... The WORKERBEE token is scarce and it holds the value nicely, but we don't know if the H-E team will drop more tokens on the market... If not, I would go into miners... I do have some BUY orders, but at lower prices...

Well, after beating the record last week, I expected that we would mine fewer BEE tokens this time... Maybe we will be luckier next time! 🙂

Oh we all get those comments. Nothing related to the post one has written.
I understand.
We should treat people here (in the virtual realm) as friends. Like you say.
I try to do so always.
If I have no time to comment I still support and upvote the post and I do read them. I don’t just write something to just write or get rewarded… we see that still to often. We should try to connect a bit more.
People are still people, with feelings that can get hurt. Let’s spread some more love around… the world is tough enough already.

People are still people, with feelings that can get hurt. Let’s spread some more love around…

I would like to think that people don't look at it in that way... I mean, they don't want to hurt someone deliberately, but rather, they just don't care... Or they just can't imagine a person behind the keyboard on the other side of the world...

As much as I'm introverted, I like to meet people in person... 😃 Maybe it's curiosity, or trying to find the "confirmation" behind all those words typed on the Internet chats, comments, etc. 🙂

I think you are right. They don’t do it deliberately to hurt… but just don’t care in a way. Or just don’t want to connect in a more meaning full way.

I am like that too. I am introvert and don’t make easy friends. It takes a while before I would step towards somebody… But I still meet people… especially when there is a lot in common and both get curious. Even introverts do seek some kind of contact with others… 😉 those friendships can go deep and will last forever.

I don't really see anything bad in virtual friends though but I believe much more in physical friends

I would say that you didn't meet a real "virtual" friend...
Cheers!

The way the time is going today, all people are busy in their mobile phones and talking to people from all over the world, so it is very good to know the situation of the whole world. I think virtual friends are better because a good relationship is formed here and real friends who are today are just mean friends.

I wouldn't even divide friends into these two "types" as there is almost no difference at all... Especially with all these ways of communication that are possible through the Internet...

I have made so many friends on here and I'm very cool with them even though I have not met them before but they have made me believe that they are real and they are also trustworthy

It's easy to recognize who is "real" and who isn't... The language barrier can be a problem, but it's recognizable who really cares and who doesn't...

I think virtual friends are easier to make because there are a lot of people online and that increases the chances of making friends. At the same time, if you are in a place with similar interests, then you are way more likely to find a friend.

Thanks for running the pool and for the BEE/SIM tokens.

You are right about that... It is all about similar interests... As online you can find more people in general, and they tend to visit specific "niche" places (for example communities here on HIVE)... That "filtering" makes all those people more likely to seek for other friends...

To me i go with the virtual aspect because most of connections started virtually after getting closer some that are not too far we connect physically and things continue to go well, virtual is a real connector for me

The beauty of meeting people online is that we usually find people with similar interests... So, when we meet IRL, it's easy to start a conversation... 😃

I totally agree and nothing irks me more on Hive than people either leaving a "Nice post" comment or something irrelevant. Another annoying one is leaving comments in a different language than the post is written in - I often go to google translate and respond in that language, but really the person reading should have the courtesy to do it..

That happened to me too! I mean, people living comments in another language, but luckily, it was in Spanish and I understood... but it was weird to see... :)

I wonder that my comment gave you idea to write 😃 you're right that virtual friends aren't robots or neither they're toy's whom we can play when we've time, but i never have feelings opposite to you what you write in your post.

I don't know why i can't meet with any virtual friend in life in a person maybe due to long distance, like no one is from my city or country 😕 but in numbers I've more virtual friends more than real life friends 😃

Thanks for mentioning me 🙂

While I am surfing on HIVE, I never see users as virtual because all tells something about their life and they make readers empathize with their stories. No matter with their personal photos or not :)

That is the only reasonable way to look at things, but many people don't look like that... To be honest, when I see posts where authors are just re-writing stuff that others have written on the INternet, I don't see them as friends or people... Those are robots... 😃
