Hive Guidelines for Newbies .:. Recap of Hive Humpday Hangout Ep.11 (2024-01-10: HHHLive Show recording)

Yesterday, after a 1-week short break, the #HHHLive show was live again with another great and useful topic! We have gathered again to help newbies swim in the (for them) undiscovered Hive waters... In the announcement post, I said that this show would be like a "second step" for newbies, and it was indeed like that! I have prepared a note before the show with your suggestions from the comment section, but we went so much broader in discussion thanks to your questions from the chat during the show!

Also, I would like to send a huge THANKS to @zakludick who came to our show for the first time, and as an experienced HIVE "onboarder" shared so much useful information with us! With his suggestions during the show, it was so much easier to go through the topics as he was adding value and tweaking every single subject... Zak is a great role model for onboarding people and helping out newbies!

Of course, I can't forget the rest of the participants who were very active in the chat during the show asking (and replying to) questions! I have recorded all the action so you can listen to the show, but also follow the chat in the video!

It was sad not to be able to fully participate in the show, but I think I had a valid excuse. I hope everything goes better next week, man. I would have loved to be there and listen to what was said on such useful topics.

The fact that the system is not rewarding and people do makes some people pissed, lol and that’s where the importance of engagement comes in

Nice show. Onboarding is definitely tough and the only person I got eventually left. As for tips, I think it's quite good and I think it's great to focus on the community. I have never really met up with anyone else from Hive but it does sound like an interesting thing.

To be honest, I was amazed by the results that Zak shared in the show... He has onboarded many people from his "physical" surroundings, which is a tremendous job! I tried it and failed many times...

We have formed a great gang around the show where we have a couple of standard participants, but it's nice to see family growing from show to show...

It's hard to find the time that suits everyone and those 1-2 hours are probably one of the only free hours where I can fit my schedule... 😔

Nice show and sorry it took me almost a week to watch. I'm glad the voting power topic came up. I have struggled with keeping it higher. I realize I should cut my percentage down. I initially thought 70% was a good target, but after listening I think 80% to 90% is better.

Hopefully it won't take me so long to watch today's show :)

Hey, nice to hear that you found the show useful!! The Voting Power thing is more like a personal preference... If I don't plan to be more than 24 hours without HIVE, I will go to 85% minimum as it will require a day to go back to 99-100%... If I'm not longer than 12 hours away from HIVE, I will do to 90% min... That's how I'm doing... :)

Just preparing my final thoughts for a show... 35 min to go! :)
