A Typical Day In My Life || Creative Nonfiction Writing Prompt

Ever since my motherhood journey began, my typical day has taken a new shape from the way it was in my singlehood days. The Best thing that has happened to me since I became a stay-at mom is finding Hive(earning and at the same time playing my motherhood role). so basically the "cast of characters" that populate my daily life is my kids and of course the hive community.

The Event Of My Typical Day

Beep beep beep!!!, The sound of my alarm clock ⏰ rang, wake up! It's 5 am. I will forcefully open my eyes from the dreamland, say my morning prayers silently, and head straight to the kitchen to begin my daily duties. That early morning sleep is always sweet and refreshing but I don't get to enjoy it anymore except during the holiday; if I do, then my kids might miss their school bus.

I am the type of mom that loves preparing fresh food for the kids every morning before they leave for school. So to meet up with the school bus, I have to sacrifice my sleep and cook every morning instead of cooking overnight. Right there in the kitchen, I prepare breakfast and set aside, prepare lunch and have them packed in the kid's lunch bags. Then wake them up, get them set for school, serve them breakfast and they leave for school leaving behind my last baby who is yet to start school. The school bus leaves most days at exactly 7 am, while they are gone, I will fix my husband's breakfast and lunch too and he leaves to work by 7:30 am as well.

Daily laundry is my ritual especially early in the morning (with morning energy) when everyone has gone. Once I am done with laundry and other basic chores, I grab my phone and start hiving. Exploring different communities, reading from other authors, and writing mine as well and sometimes saving it in the draft if I am not ready to publish. I also spend some of my time on discord servers to connect with my hive friends. I give hive quality time daily unless something came along the line. I also have other side hustle I do apart from hive and I do well to give it attention before hiving for the day. I do all of these online activities while taking care of my last baby at home and at noon just before my older kids arrive from school, I try to have a nap.

By 4 pm, I will receive my older kids from the school bus. Get them refreshed and we begin any class assignment they brought home with them. I will guide them, pay much attention to what they are up to and correct them where necessary. This moment usually lasts up to 6:30 pm some days. So once I am done assisting them with homework, I will quickly clean whatever they took to the school and return to Hive blockchain. Hive becoming my second home...lol

I usually keep up with my activities in hive until hubby returns from work around 8: p.m. Then we have dinner together as a family, watch movies or cartoons together for a while, say our night prayers, and then to bed for our night's rest. This same event continues over and over unless by the weekend where things get altered a bit.

Overall, my day is usually filled up with activities both at home, in the hive, and on other social media like WhatsApp mainly where I interact with clients for other online businesses. It's usually a productive day for me and I will look forward to adjusting where possible for a better daily result 👌
