Weekend Sketching

After a busy week, it was nice to sit down and do some relaxing sketching. I have a couple of books that I bought recently which I have been keen to put to some good use.

The first one was a winter drawing with some different patterns. I am really happy with how this came out as it has been a little while since I did some serious drawing. I still have some work to do on the eyes, but practice will make perfect!

It was good to feel the pencils in my hand again and relax and sketch. I took a little break from my Pokemon sketching and wanted to try these cute characters instead.

The next character I was drew was listened to some music. I thought to add a little color to this one for fun. Although it is great to make some digital sketching, you can't beat holding a pencil sometimes. Do you have many sketchbooks laying around?

I love music and so thought this sketch was appropriate to sketch. I had a little trouble with the flared trousers. Sketching eyes is not so easy still. The hands style was also a little different, but I am noticing certain techniques to try and do things better. I think I forgot the nose here, I added it in afterwards.

It was great to add a little color and use my gifted artset. Having a case is handy to sketch in different places if you are looking for some good lighting.

After sketching with pencils, I decided to proceed with making some digital sketching. I didn't have so much fancy to do any digital for a while, but was glad I started again as I was enjoying once I got into it again.

The final digital result is quite nice to compare to the pencil version. To finish it, I should then add a new layer and add more color, but I left it in the initial sketched version for now.

Thanks for reading.

Those are so cute! Eyes always give me nightmares too. (I love the digital one, maybe I should pick up my pad and start with some doodles...hehe)

Thanks, they are quite tricky to get right the eyes! You should pick up the pad and have a go! It is good fun!

Interesting to see your drawings for the first time after you got a set of drawing material.

Actually, I love the first one the most. Perhaps because of her eyelashes and sweater😊

Thanks, yeah I really love that one, plus the cool trousers! 😀 The eyelashes and eyes are important for the cute/femine thing I think.

You are right. Those are what gave her a feminine look with her slender body.
Well done👍

You did a great job man, I can't say you'll be a painter in the future, but you're better than me for sure. Drawing is a good hobby, I wish I could be good at it haha.

Those are really great! Your skills have really grown from when you first started! Even back then you were still much better than me.

The digital result looks a bit more polished than the pencil version. For the creative process, I always prefer using a pencil and a paper than a digital pad.
Nice weekend sketching :)

Thanks, you can get the digital pictures more perfect I think, but I agree, pencil and pad is great for the creative process and good fun.

I'm loving those drawings, mostly because what you tell has inspired me bro. I didn't know you had that passion and I'm glad to see you use it as a way to connect with your inner peace. Those eyes are cool man, even the girl with no nose looked cool like that 😅 I really like drawing and I've abandoned it, music went from being my favorite hobby to my job, I'm not complaining, but I've given up other things. I'm glad that drawing comforts you after a big busy week, mine was the same, but I just want to sleep and see posts on Hive 🤣

Thanks, Im glad you liked them. That is pretty cool that music went from being your hobby to a job, if it is your passion, then it is not like real work. Im not sure I will go so far with sketching, but you never know 😅

A-ha, yay - you are drawing again! That first kiddo is a cutie. Still a ways to go depending also on which style you're going for but, most importantly, you're having fund and you are making progress. There are a ton of tuts on the web on how to draw eyes, it's fun to just fill a whole page only with different eyes.

Do you have many sketchbooks laying around?

Do you want me to count? And I don't even have THAT many but, yeah, buying new journals or pads is somewhat addictive. Better watch out!

Yeah I'm back sketching and enjoying it. Trying to do some each day if I can.

Thanks I will check them out, that's a good idea to practice many so then I have a few go toos and can think how to do them better.

For pencil drawing you need a lot of patience, I believe. And that is apt in your drawing. You have a good collection of colour pencils too. Perfect!
