We Are Alive! April 28th, 2024 Service Berries
With the weather warming up, our plants are springing back to life! We're beginning to prepare our garden as the "frost date" is a few weeks away.
This is the first year that our service berry tree may produce fruit. Seeing all the flowers, it looks like it's getting ready to produce berries!
We found service berries at a local park and made service berry jam from them. It was delicious! Now that we're growing our own tree, we'll have a source right in our back yard.
The fruit are like blueberries, but they're red and have seeds inside. I call it a "Red Blueberry Tree".
Last year we picked a bunch of berries from a relative's tree, it was loaded!
It'll be a long time before we get this many berries from a single tree, but all trees have to start somewhere!
