Today was a special day, the day after the "Preparation Day" after we observe the remembrance, we observe the first day of unleavened. A special day off, even for a Tuesday, we treat it like a day off work.

This is the day we remember both the Israelites leaving Egypt (plundering them on the way out) and the solemn day that Yeshua was in the tomb. It's a day marked with both sorrow and rejoicing.

Yeshua was told "Herod wants to kill you!" so He sent a messenger to tell Herod Antipas:

"Today, tomorrow and the third day I will be perfected." Luke 13:32

On the day Yeshua was placed into the hands of the Romans, standing before Herod Antipas...

...[Herod] was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him. Then he questioned with him in many words; but [Yeshua] answered him nothing. Luke 23:8-9

Why did Yeshua answer him nothing? Because everything He had to say to Herod Antipas, was already said by the messenger:

"Today, tomorrow and the third day I will be perfected." Luke 13:32

Today, I stand before you
Tomorrow, I will be in the tomb
The third day, I will be perfected

How was He perfected? Through His suffering!

"Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey Him, being designated by God as High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek." Hebrews 5:8

Today is the day we remember his obedience to His Father, that he suffered even unto death and was placed in a tomb to rest.

For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Psalm 16:10

Indeed, His Father did not leave his soul in hell, nor did He allow His Son to decay, but He was raised to life (and perfected) on the third day.

Just as the Israelites plundered the wealth of Egypt, Yeshua plundered the wealth of Sheol taking all the righteous with him as He departed in His EXODUS from the grave!
