One of my favorite coins is this RED penny from 1957. The case has gotten a little scratched, but the coin inside is in PRISTINE condition.

These are called "RED" because of the color that results from the proof strike on the copper.

In the shadow, we can see the deep copper color, that really does have a "RED" tone to it.

When it's reflecting light, it takes on a very golden color.

The wheat penny reverse is very clean, I like the wheat strands all lined up with the grain below. I've seen so many dirty and warn wheat pennies, so seeing this in a proof state is very nice.

It was rated by the "International Numismatics Bureau" which sounds very official, but when I looked it up, the comments were pretty funny.

This grading company is a "basement slabber". I'll take that PR70 grade with a serious grain of salt.

I probably picked this coin up as a part of a lot, I used to buy coins from ebay (many) years ago, when I had too much time and money in my hands. So glad that's not a problem anymore!
