My way

This week's spill the beans prompt is different, different from all the fictional stories we usually write where our imaginations run wild and we get the chance to bring these spectacular prompts to life, hehehe😃

This week’s prompt is all about our preference as coffee lovers.

Do you enjoy coffee more when you are the one who makes it, or when it is made for you by someone else?
Tell us the reasons behind your preference.

I know exploring is great, but there are times I get sick of trying the same pattern of food over and again and I just decide to go out there and eat in whatever restaurant I want to and can afford.

My answer to the question for this prompt is very simple. I enjoy every bit of my coffee when I make it. For someone who is a bit of a germaphobe, I consider certain things. I do not like to share certain things with people no matter how neat or clean they are. Sharing certain things in this context would mean sharing the same cup, plate, and other utensils with people over and over again.

Don’t get me wrong, I eat out sometimes but I am very particular about the place and food that I eat, moreover, I love preparing my meals myself where I am certain about hygiene. This applies to taking coffee too.

I love to make my coffee myself and savor all the moments, I love to stand close to my coffee machine while it grinds the coffee beans, I love to wait patiently till my coffee is ready and heck yes I love to take in the aroma that fills the room.

Half the time I brew my coffee I do it alone as I enjoy making and taking my coffee alone, in peace away from all the chaos happening in the world. I love and respect my “Me” time a lot and I can’t trade it for anything.

The soothing feeling I get when I make and take my coffee alone is next to none. I enjoy having my coffee in a coffee shop sometimes as it helps to kill boredom.
Watching as people troop in and out of the coffee shop with their orders in their hands, how the baristas attend to customers over the counter, how other coffee lovers chit chat whilst they take their coffee, and all the other activities that go on in a coffee shop but the feeling cannot still be compared to when I make and take my coffee all alone.

To some people taking coffee alone can be such a blessing as it can be a moment of reflection. Sipping that little magic as you reflect on your life, can be wonderful. You reflect on how far you have come, what your next plan of action is and tons of things that can go through that little head of yours.

Baristas are awesome, some of them deserve a Nobel prize award for making the best coffee but I love how I make my coffee and it’s been going on for years.

I love how I am free to buy the type of coffee brand that I want, the level of coffee bean roast that I like, how I can switch brands whenever I want, and a lot of other privileges enjoyed by coffee when I make it

Thanks for sticking around for so long😃

Reading you reminded me of my grandmother, she was extremely scrupulous in the kitchen and would not eat dishes from just anyone, and since I remember, she taught us the custom that everyone should have their own cup, because she thought it was disgusting that everyone stuck their mouths in the same glasses, and so to this day everyone at home has their own cup and does not share it with others or with guests.

As for coffee alone or with company, sometimes it is nice to have coffee with someone, either in their home or ours, maybe in a coffee shop and talk, but like you I am happy, having my coffee alone, thinking, reflecting or watching the landscape through my window.

Mine was my mum, she was so big on hygiene and we all just had to follow suit and till today we have her to thank for everything😃

Mine can be according to my mood sometimes.

I like when someone else makes my coffee more... but only if they do it right! 🤣 For this reason, I have taken more and more pleasure in preparing my coffee for myself over the years as well.

I liked reading about your coffee routine, that peaceful moment of connecting with your mug is one of the best ways to start the day! 😄☕️

Just like you, I love preparing my own coffee cos I like to cook a lot and I pay attention to details which I feel some may not.

I'm constantly being tempted to start drinking coffee again just by reading all the posts about coffee here. 🤔

Sometimes, preparing coffee is a ritual, with all that it entails: mental preparation, mysticism, enlightenment. I guess this is why many of us coffee lovers like making our own coffee. We put our soul into it; we enjoy every sound, aroma and the visual game, which is very entertaining too: the beans falling, the shine and the shadows... And although sometimes our hands just work fast, guided by habit and our need to open our eyes to the new day, I enjoy the whole process of preparing my coffee, too 🙃

Hehehe I love how you call it the “visual game” as it is so apt.

I couldn’t have agreed more dearest !Lady😃😃

I love your coffee making routine. I also love making my coffee but won't say No to having others prepare it for me.

Thank you for sharing.
