Maintaining Focus Against All Odd

Happy mid-week friends, hope your week is going well and as planned?

We live in a time and season when things happening in our surroundings most times they see it as a way of life. I found myself in an environment that white collar job is everyone's take and when you are not into it it looks as if you are just wasting your time.

Let me tell you a little story. When I was just about getting married to my husband my father in-law told me that job is everywhere in his place thats when I asked him of something I can be doing and I added that my preference is a pensionable job.

Reality dot come stormed at me when I finally came. One month after the wedding we went visiting and I asked him how I can apply for job🤩🤩🤩, he said I should come and teach in the church school that's in the village 😭😭😭, Sha, my heart ached and I was so disappointed.

When we returned home with my husband I expressed my disappointment, I told him I was not going to work with any private school, especially with what my father in-law said I was going to be paid less than 8,000 naira. After a while I started a business, frying peanut and popcorn to supply to different stores. This business was flourishing after a while suggestions came that I should own a shop. The general notion of owning a shop is that you will grow faster when people get to see you and all that. Well, mine happened differently, I didn't grow there because I was still supplying to my customers. The most frustrating thing was, the electricity was not stable. Also, instead of the people within to patronize me they decided to bugle my shop twice. Lastly I packed up and began to stay at home as usual. I refused to do anything relating to supplies. I was just there taking care of my baby though I already took an extra course in Education.

As I said earlier, my society is one that believes strongly in owning a shop and white collar job. Even if what you go out to do on a daily basis does not worth it, they still value it that way. When I was introduced to blogging, I took it with so much passion without considering so much the money. What I know is that I was told that it is good and it helps her to sort her bills as a stay at home Mom.

A times people will ask me what I do and I respond by telling them that am a content creator. They find it difficult to go with it. Coping with this on a daily basis is not so easy. After a while I decided to start up another business at least when they ask what I do or even without asking they get to see that am on with a thing. I will not say I am bending to the pressure that flip through my face on a daily basis but I have developed a better to cope with it on a daily basis. Obviously, there is no way to convince everyone around or else I will take my whole time explaining and there is no way I can even make it because time will so fail me. My decision is to keep doing my thing a day at a time maintaining a good conscience hence I know am not on the wrong side. Gradually those that will accept will do and those that don't want to will just be there.

My response to the hive learner's contest week 98 edition 2. Thank You for visiting my blog. See you soon.

Whao, I can relate to this, people feel if you're in in the corporate world, then you don't have a real job.

Even if what you're doing in bringing in more money, well, maybe it's because people are used to seeing others going to work everyday, so the idea of working from home sounds somehow to them.

They are used to going out everyday, that's true. But there is actually a shift from all that. Thanks my dear

Not having a real job as people think because you are blogger is one of the most trending things in our society now.
A guy just lost the lady that he proposed to marry because he is into crypto. Her parents says that he is a hahoo boy.
When his mother told me I laughed because is the same thing we face.

I don't why people especially in Africa believes so much in pensionable jobs and tie their entire life to it and don't see other possibilities.

Entrepreneurship is a good way forward presently especially exploring the blockchain sphere.

This thing gets me worried most times, white collar job is the highest deception of all time especially when pension is attached to it.

Good one from you my sis. We can’t do what everyone wants and that’s because we are not them. We are ourselves. What works for other might not work for us. That’s life. But the society doesn’t care.

I am glad you are doing fine with blogging and living fine.

Hi @hivedeb. I have been lucky to be in a stable job despite all the difficulties. Being a content creator has helped me a lot with my mental health, I get distracted, I know new points of view about some situation, I realize that I am not alone and it helps me to supplement my income, I thank God for having discovered this facet in me. Many do not understand what it is to generate content, and with patience I have had to sit down and explain to them what it is. Digital entrepreneurship is very new to some people.

Digital entrepreneurship is very new to some people.

This truth is so unpopular, but those that care to know listen to learn new things but many close their heart to new truth. Good you can combine with another job. As it is now, not every kind of work i can do.

Thanks dear brother
