The Seventh Day Already!

Wow, it's already the seventh day of the #HiveBloPoMo! And guess what, I'm still on schedule. In fact, I'm so confident I want to pat myself on the back. But nah, rather not do that. I know from experience that usually means getting myself into trouble immediately. So, I'll just keep going and hope for the best.

Today is National Beer Day in the US, which is probably a great reason for many American citizens to enjoy a drink. Unfortunately, here in the Netherlands we are not celebrating a National Beer Day today. And beside that, we really have the weather gods against us. They decided for a second gray rainy day this week. Seriously, we'd had nice weather for three days and now we're back to the gray and rainy days, like we've seen for all the month March.

Now I must confess that I am not much of a beer drinker. The only beer I ever drink is Radler 0%. And that only when I sit outside and the weather is nice. I know, some beer lovers don't think that's real beer, but for me it's more than enough. And since the weather is not that nice today, I'm sure not going to drink a Radler 0% today. It's a bit of a shame I can't join the Americans and have a beer, but it is what it is, and I'll sure survive.

Anyway, since it's both gray and rainy here AND it's not National Beer Day in my country, I'll have something else instead. It's time to work in some pure health. I have to strengthen myself against that nasty bug that my partner and I suffer from. Yeah, I know, It's probably very boring, but so be it. So let me tell you what pure health am I going to get in my body on US National Beer Day.

Pure Health Secrets

Let me tell you about a secret weapon for the human body: a source of vitamins and minerals, the well-known, oh so delicious ...

Orange!

Let's start with the most well-known nutrient in oranges. Vitamin C, which is known for its immune-boosting properties. It is a powerful antioxidant that helps prevent and reduce free radical damage in your body. Vitamin C also plays an important role in the production of collagen, a protein needed to keep your skin, hair and nails healthy, and it helps to make your skin look smoother.

But did you know that oranges contain many more healthy nutrients? Oranges also contain a lot of calcium. And calcium is an essential mineral for strong bones and teeth. Because of that oranges are an ideal snack to help strengthen your bones.

The next nutrient in oranges that is definitely worth mentioning is potassium. Potassium is important for regulating your blood pressure. It promotes a healthy heart function and helps to maintain your body's fluid balance. Potassium is also good for preventing muscle cramps. So people who exercise a lot, make sure to get enough potassium through your food!

And if you thought that was all, think again! Oranges are also high in fiber. And fiber is very important for gut health and blood sugar regulation. Fiber also helps lower cholesterol levels in your blood, and that can help prevent heart disease.

The last thing I want to mention here are the flavonoids. Oranges are also high int those. These powerful antioxidants help fight inflammation in your body and help prevent diseases such as cancer and heart disease.

So the next time you're craving a healthy snack, think oranges. Whether you need a vitamin C boost, strengthen your bones, regulate your blood pressure, lower your cholesterol or just enjoy a delicious juicy fruity taste, oranges have it all! In short, why opt for a beer on National Beer Day in the US, while it's raining here in the Netherlands? And when I can have a sweet, juicy orange instead that really gives my body a health boost?

Cheers to the Orange!
