Hello! Welcome to my blog. It is better not to miss a class and depend on handouts because live class gives you more understanding. I haven't been active on hive lately because I haven't been feeling well and as a result of that I missed last Sunday's meeting.

However, I found task 4 quite sophisticated. I had to watch the video on task 4 all over and study the materials twice to be able to write based on my understanding. I am doing this task with my partner @phyna .

Some questions were given to us in order to know how well we understood the task.

Here are the questions and answers 👇

Question 1a: How do you distinguish tags from tokens? What are the similarities and differences as well as the types involved?

Difference
Tags serve as markers or labels that represent topics or themes related to a piece of content. They are essentially keywords or hashtags that help in categorizing and organizing content to ensure it reaches the right audience. For instance, if you're posting in a food-related community, using tags like #foodie or #food can help your content gain visibility among people interested in that niche.

While

Tokens function as rewards generated by communities for curating and recognizing authors who consistently produce high-quality content. These tokens are specific to individual communities and serve as a form of digital currency within those communities. Examples include Loh tokens and Leo tokens, which are used within their respective communities.

Similarities
Although tags and tokens serve different purposes, they do share some similarities.

Firstly, both contribute to the classification and organization of content on the blockchain, ensuring that relevant content is easily discoverable.

Secondly, they foster a sense of community by enabling users with shared interests to find and engage with each other's content. This encourages interaction and collaboration within the community, leading to stronger connections.

Lastly, both tags and tokens heavily rely on user participation and engagement. Users actively contribute by using tags to label their content effectively, and community members distribute tokens as a reward for valuable contributions.

Types of Tags:
Relevant tags: These are posts related tags that are very important e.g #food, #meal, #dinner, #lunch, #dessert for a content that talks about Food.

Community tags: These are community generated tags that serve as the community identity. They are usually the first 5 five tags to use while posting in the particular community e.g Hive-167922(leofinance) this is automatically imputed when you are posting from the leofinance frontend.

Specified tags: hl-exclusive and hl-w85e3 mostly used for community contests.

Popular tags: These are trending tags that are frequently used by authors.

Tribal tags: These are tags that earns you authors reward like hive, HBD etc when you use them e.g #vyb, #neoxian etc

Types of Tribal Tokens:
$Leo- leofinance tribe
$Pob- Proofofbrain
$Vyb- Vybrainium tribe
$Stem- Stem tribe

Question 2: Select at least two random community tribes of your choice, explore there frontend and give us a review of what you think after going through your profile and feed.

Peakd: I have been using peakd since I started hiving and that is because it is very easy to navigate and I love how organised it looks. I find it very flexible.

Ecency: I found out about ecency when I had issues logging in to peakd as a result of network issues. But I find it difficult initially, it wasn't easy for me to navigate but as I learnt how to use it I started liking it but I like it better because of its rewards when it is been used.

Question 3: What are tipping tokens? Give two examples and abuses of the service.

Tipping tokens
These are gift tokens. You can share or gift these tokens to others.

Example:

LcTxR7u1XKaapBH3qwmEZeimAxECSVo91H6DdUAVt2PqekxPARccSkPTbRR54eedDDZqDnfukdZWBdFeMiXtAKAx9vGzPoa6MiGng1LzYgC3hRZmaKns2NPtc24xtgNZx4XaByRgCHwvhetbdkP6FLg5C.png
@LUVshares (!luv)

@LOH=ladies of hive (!lady)

The act of tipping oneself with these tokens using another account is frowned at by communities and might attract blacklisting the account. So refrain from doing such.

Question 4: But and sell any tribe token or hive engine token of your choice. Show the process you took to make this transaction with the necessary screenshot.

Step 1: Using chrome browser,leodex.io. Then login your hive username.

Step 2: Deposit some hive to enable you transact.

This will require your permission and approval through hivesigner.

Step 3: Select your preferred token to buy and sell.

IMG_20231029_193518.jpg

Step 4: Input the price and quantity of token you want to buy. The price of the token is the same as BID.

IMG_20231029_193305.jpg

The same goes for selling of tokens.

I love your explanations on the use of tags but please note that neoxian, indiaunited, Pob, VYB, are tags you can use on any kind of post you write and if the post is talking about food or anything or travelling that is when you will use tags that belongs to it. For instance you write about traveling. You can easily use #travel #journey #neoxain #pimp and so on like that.

Thanks for sharing this beautiful post
