Exploring My Potential As A Social Media Influencer.

Being a social media influencer is not something I have ever thought of because of my terrible social habits, I have heard people discuss how lucrative it is but winning the hearts of people online doesn't sound as easy as many people think. I haven't given it a shot but I know someone who did and eventually gave up. It's sad that she invested a lot and was deceived by the success of people in the industry. They made it look very easy whereas it is not, it's a different struggle to gain followers and a whole different game to make money because of the competition among social media influencers.

Being an influencer is beyond creating awesome content, you need to put yourself on everyone's screen, make people always come back to you and think to always do better than whatever you did previously; growth is a priority. The majority of the influencers out there are doing more than just influencing and they go extreme just to win people's hearts. Exposing their bodies, fake giveaways, engaging their followers in inappropriate conversations and others are the strategies a lot of people have adopted just to gain those followers which I am not and will never be ready to do.

About a year ago, I registered a TikTok account after listening to a friend's advice. He suggested that I could start a food blog channel which sounded interesting and it would interest you to know that I haven't checked what's happening on the account for the last 6 months, it's just not my thing and I realized that I do not have passion for a few things that has to do with social media.

If I were to be a social media influencer, I would be known for cooking because the secret to getting yourself massive followers is doing what you know best passionately in a way that people would love. It has to be something you can be consistent with and ready to deliver anytime. I find cooking easy and that's what I am venturing into if I choose to build a career as a social media influencer although I still need to acquire more knowledge in the field so I won't restrict myself to getting fans only from my country.

It might take a lot of time to get a breakthrough in the field but as long as I don't give anything less than my best, the breakthrough will come someday.

I have quite a few brands I would love to promote and Hive sits on the top of my list. It would be a voluntary promotion after the positive impact Hive has had on me since I joined this great blockchain. Whenever I see the names of different Web 2 platforms doing pretty well, it reminds me of how Hive is underrated because if we point out the great accomplishments of these platforms on their users/members, Hive stands out. I am not saying Hive isn't doing well but putting Hive out there will bring more visibility, attention, investment and engagement to the blockchain which would make every member happy.

Despite the great impact of Hive on many of us, I believe the best of the blockchain is yet to come and promoting Hive will bring lots of members that would bring more ideas for the growth and development of the blockchain.

Having started my influencer career with a food blog, it is highly predictable that I will be on the radar of my food-producing company and I will gladly promote them knowing fully well that they are truly concerned about the well-being of the people.

A lot of influencers are just about the money but mine will be different. I want to secure the bag as well but not at the expense of my integrity or the well-being of followers. As an influencer, I will look very well into brands before taking any promotional job and will never mislead my followers. One of the things I intend to do is give back to my fans not just by doing giveaways but by helping them promote their brands after seeing how much it can affect people positively.

There are lots of underrated brands out there and they just can't get themselves out there because of what it takes to get a reputable influencer on their side, I wouldn't mind taking a job like that to support them.

I do not see myself becoming an influencer though but it doesn't mean that I wouldn't take such an opportunity if it comes my way. It will be difficult at the beginning because it will require me to have lots of online presence which isn't my style but with time, I should cope but if that online presence will cost my mental health, I won't give it a second thought.

Thanks for reading.

You're very much correct when you stated the fact.that a lot of influencers focuses on the money. However, they forget the fact that they need to safeguards their integrity and pass out important values to the society..

Some years back one of Nigeria musicians advertised a Ponzi scheme and it was really disappointing because a lot of his fans were misled by him.

Influencers need to push their follower's wellbeing as a priority.

Same here with me. I'm not the type for social media influencing. I may not just have the time for it. Just like you open an account where you want to display your cooking skills. WOW 😲. So you can cook like this. This is great to hear. Keep up the good job.

I believe if you had made more effort on tiktok by promoting your cooking ideas, I'm sure you would get the attention you need, it just depends on how you navigate it.

Advertising hive to the world does make sense by doing this, you will expose the benefits of hive to those we are yet to be aware of it.

Things could have been better really but I wasn't as prepared as I thought and might reconsider it but not anytime soon. The good works of Hive need to be known out there.

You have to be constant and as everywhere, competition sometimes tends to be very unfair, so an influencer must be prepared and spend a lot of time researching. I respect your position.

I love the path you took. As a Gordon blue chef that you are, you will do very well as an influencer in that line. And I love the fact that you would better support small businesses. That's kind of you. Everything is not about money. Doing what makes you fulfilled matters. 👍👍
