On an excursion to collect stones with the children for their collection.

Hello hivians. Monday arrived, Mondays are hard but you have to get back to work. But it was a fun weekend for me, I hope for you too. Since I didn't have to plant anything this week we decided to go on a hike with the children to collect stones for their collection. Well for one of them the other is not interested at all and what he likes is chasing animals.

I have some knowledge about rocks and minerals so I was more of a teacher than a mother. And amazingly he listened to me. The area where I live is an area of sedimentary rocks where limestone predominates. They are not the most spectacular rocks in principle. Most people prefer Igneous rocks like Basalt or Metamorphic rocks like marble. But if you know how to look, there are very beautiful limestone rocks that create spectacular formations.
Here I have put an image of Naranjo de Bulnes that if you are a fan of climbing it is impossible not to know. Simply spectacular.

If you focus more on individual rocks and not rock formations, there are beautiful limestones, especially gypsum, that create incredible shapes. Toba is another incredible calcareous rock or Rock Salt that can have wonderful colors. Another of my favorites is the Aljez or plaster stone with which many sculptures and molds for sculptures have been made.
So you see, don't get carried away by appearances and look carefully because there is beauty everywhere.
