Abych nějak navázal na tu nevšímavost. Už několik let jezdím pravidelně přes město Kašperské Hory. Až teprve letos, začátkem léta, jsem si všiml, že zde mají minipivovar. Do letošního jara jsem se totiž o podobné věci nezajímal. Teď kudy jedu, tam se rozhlížím, jestli tam vaří místní zlatavý mok :-).
To somehow follow up on that inattention. I have been regularly driving through the city of Kašperské Hory for several years. Only this year, at the beginning of summer, I noticed that they have a microbrewery here. Until this spring, I was not interested in such things. Now wherever I go, I look around to see if the local golden juice is brewing there :-).
Ale vraťme se do Kašperských Hor. Pěkné městečko s bohatou zlatokopeckou minulostí uprostřed Šumavy. Dnes časté výchozí místo pro objevování osobitých krás zdejšího kraje.
Pokud se sem někdy přijedete podívat, třeba na královský hrad Kašperk, a budete unaveni putováním po zdejších přírodních krásách, můžete zajít na jedno (nebo radši 5) pivo do zdejšího minipivovaru s restaurací.
Mě se návštěvy restaurací nějak netýkají. To mi však nebrání v nákupu lahví piva na domácí degustaci :-). Povedlo se mi to minulý čtvrtek, kdy jsem měl poslední pracovní zastávku pár metrů od pivovaru. Zakoupil jsem tři lahve místních specialit a teď se s vámi o zážitek z degustace podělím.
Pokud se sem někdy přijedete podívat, třeba na královský hrad Kašperk, a budete unaveni putováním po zdejších přírodních krásách, můžete zajít na jedno (nebo radši 5) pivo do zdejšího minipivovaru s restaurací.

V pátek večer jsem ochutnal Amálku, v sobotu přišla na řadu Cikánka a v pondělí jsem se věnoval, pro mne dosud neznámému stylu, Herbal Stout.

Polotmavý ležák plzeňského typu, 11°, 4,6% alkoholu.

Po otevření láhve mne „přivítala“ čistá vůně chmele. Po nalití do sklenice se tato vůně ještě umocnila. Jantarová barva, střední říz. Výraznější sladová chuť pozvolna ustupuje příjemné hořkosti. Je to tak trochu „hravé“ pivo. Dobře se pije a dovedu si ho představit jako výborné osvěžení po horkém dni.
After opening the bottle, I was "welcomed" by the pure aroma of hops. After pouring into the glass, this aroma became even stronger. Amber color, medium cut. The more pronounced malt flavor gradually gives way to a pleasant bitterness. It's a bit of a "playful" beer. It drinks well and I can imagine it as an excellent refreshment after a hot day.

Po otevření láhve mne překvapilo, že skoro necítím chmel. Vůni bych asi přirovnal k svěží vůni čistoty. Zní to divně? Prostě vůně čistého, svěžího horského vzduchu :-). Také jsem měl trochu problém, k čemu přirovnat chuť. V každém případě převažovala chuť sladu. Až někde na konci se rozvinuje nevýrazná ale příjemná hořkost, kterou bych přirovnal k chuti velmi slabé Melty.
Pro neznalé. Melta je kávovina z praženého kořene čekanky a ječmene.
Tohle pivo je spíš na klidné posezení s přáteli.

Just the smell of clean, fresh mountain air :-). I also had a bit of a problem with what to compare the taste to. In any case, the taste of malt prevailed. Somewhere at the end, a faint but pleasant bitterness develops, which I would compare to the taste of a very weak Melta.

Bylinný speciál. 14°, svrchně kvašený, 6,6 až 7% alkoholu. Chmelené americkým Cascade a českou Harmonií, vařeno s vřesem.

Po nalití do sklenice se rozvinula bylinná vůně s tóny chmelu. Chuťově výrazná ale příjemná hořkost bylin umocněná přidaným vřesem, přes kterou jemně prostupuje sladová chuť. V dochuti se prosazuje chmelová hořkost.
Netušil jsem, co mohu od tohoto stylu očekávat. Určitě mi to chutnalo. Tohle si zaslouží další ochutnávku. Jestli to však budu kombinovat i s jinými chutěmi (třeba s čokoládou, jak mi nedávno naznačil @godfish), to nevím. Snad až po delším „zkoumání“ :-).

Tak jak se vám trio z Kašperských Hor líbí? Za sebe mohu říci, že se k němu určitě ještě vrátím a pokusím se k tomu koupit i další piva z produkce minipivovaru.

Alkoholik snad ještě ne. Klidně vydržím bez piva celý den :-D.
Na druhou stranu je fakt, že tolik piva, co jsem vypil od dubna, jsem jsem za posledních pět let nevypil :-)
First beer sounds ideal to quench thirst after a hot day, ideal for our conditions in Summer.
Last would fit in well around a fire to share under the stars with friends. The other sounds a little non-descriptive and I prefer the taste of hops and barley!

There are many small breweries in my area. It will take me a long time to taste all their beers :-). At least I will have ideas for many articles.

Yes, we are a small country, but in the number of breweries per population, we are a world power :-).
Beer is brewed almost everywhere. Maybe even in the basement of the family house :-)
Good to know you a world power in something, obviously families learned to brew their own and now one notices more often.
I'm really noticing small breweries more now. It seems to me that big breweries don't have time to devote the right amount of time to brewing. They "go" for quantity in order to make profits.
Our small breweries also popping up more and more, enjoy visiting as you see them.

Haha well how nice that people keep discovering that this community exists and that we have focused our attention on the world of breweries. It's always interesting to see reviews of different places to keep in mind for a trip.
I love the shape of these bottles, it's very different from the usual ones, is it plastic? and I'm very surprised at how high in alcohol they all are. So I think it's very wise to try each one on different days hehe I would get excited and open them all together.

You're right. The bottles are plastic. It is an undemanding packaging for small breweries.
In this hot summer, it would be unwise to drink all the bottles at once :-). In addition, gradual consumption brings the advantage of "unmixed" flavors.
