Hello dear Meetup friends

As promised, today I will show you how I got to the Hive Meetup in Aachen. As I already reported in my preliminary post, unfortunately I could only go on Saturday. Not so bad, because that was the main day anyway. All of the presentations by the individual speakers were held on Saturday. So I left Solingen at around 12 noon. It took me about an hour to get to Aachen, because all of the motorway entrances in Solingen are currently closed, so I had to take the detour via Langenfeld and drive from there onto the A3. This meant I was a little late, but I got through the rest of the day just fine.

When I arrived in Aachen, I first had to find a parking space, which wasn't difficult as there was a huge parking lot right in front of the location, so I quickly parked my car and unloaded all the things I had brought with me. I could already see @quekery, @louis88 and @thatgermandude from a distance, who were standing outside and smoking. After I greeted the three of them, we went inside and @quekery introduced me to the other participants. I introduced myself to everyone I didn't know yet, and of course I had seen some of the guys at other meetings. Since I've been to meetups several times, I already knew some people like @tibfox, @achimmertens @solarwarrior, @rivalzzz @detlev and family.

After I had greeted everyone and introduced myself, we still had some time before a small snack. Since I only arrived at around 1:30 p.m., I had unfortunately already missed two or three speakers. After the pizza, I quickly went for a smoke before the speakers continued. The presentation room was very cool, everyone could sit comfortably and everyone had enough space to spread out, as many people had their laptops with them for the presentations.

The first speaker I heard was Ivan Dimitrov, who spoke about The Blockchain Reallabor. Unfortunately, his talk was in English and I didn't understand anything and can't tell you anything about it. Unfortunately, I didn't have any contact with him afterwards and we couldn't talk to each other. Stupid language barrier.

Next up was @quekery, who introduced the HiQ with all its facets, such as Hiq-vote, bots and the Smartcast. And of course not forgetting to introduce their self-developed game Craftink. Since I also work with the guys and have already been to the Buzzparty in Hamburg, I already knew the presentation. What was different, however, was that this time it wasn't @smooms who gave the presentation, but @quekery, who was a little tense. But I have to say, he did it really confidently and got it across really well.

Afterwards, an old friend came along who I already know from another Aachen Meetup. @achimmertens had already told me a little about his project back then. But this time there was also visual material and I was able to understand it much better than the last time. His project, for which he also created the account @advertisingbot2, organizes small competitions in which Hive users can take part and don't have to do anything other than publish small advertising texts in their own posts. By publishing the advertising texts, they then take part in the prize pool, which @achimmertens finances out of his own pocket.

He also made a cool approach: he would like to find people who are offering or looking for jobs or small activities on Hive and who can find each other via Hive. I thought this idea was really good because it would have huge added value for many projects. For example, if you need a graphic designer, you simply post a request and if someone is on Hive and wants to earn some extra money, they can respond to the ad. That way, a few people will definitely find each other and great projects could emerge.

The next speaker was a new face for me. His name is @dercio and I didn't know anything about him. However, he is the founder of Birdlabs, which I didn't know either. Unfortunately, I can't tell you much about him because I didn't really understand much, even though he gave his presentation in German. Through other posts, I now know at least that he has developed a tool called Talent Layer, which stores reviews decentrally and thus protects and verifies reputation data.

After @dercio's presentation, Detlev spoke up again and said that we didn't have much time left and that he would like to give the next two presentations faster because the food was already on the way. So @tibfox made his way to the front and presented his projects and much more. He started with Buzzparty and that he tries to organize as many meetups as possible under Hivian. He connects many countries through his community and ensures that the meetups have a place on Hive where people can meet to organize meetups, he helps with the organization and promotes the meetups.
He also introduced his community DIYHub, where you can post do-it-yourself posts or useful tutorials. It doesn't matter what it's about, you can let your imagination and creativity run wild. But they should be challenging and helpful things, then you might get some great upvotes

The last person to come forward was @detlev, who presented his beer token and beer Saturday in an extremely short version and also mentioned that there will be regular meetings in Aachen. His presentation was really short because he wanted to have a quick dinner with us and otherwise the food would get cold.

For dinner we had 3 different chili con carne with bread, tzatziki and sandwiches. We all filled our bellies and I have to say it was really delicious. Big compliments to the cook. During the meal I also spent a little time with the presents and grabbed a few things, because everything had to go again. Then I thought of @themyscira and was able to take a few things for her, which I now just have to send to her.

After dinner we slowly started to clean up the location and pack the things that needed to be taken with us. I actually thought it would take a little longer, but since Germany was playing in the European Championship that day, some of the participants wanted to watch the game. @detlev and a few others wanted to leave around 6 p.m. and we helped load everything. After everything was loaded, half of us had already left and only @tibfox, @quekery, @thatgermandude and I were left and we thought about what else we could do. @tibfox decided to go on a sightseeing tour of Aachen and the other 3 of us decided to drive to @thatgermandude to end the evening with him at the Germany game. We laughed a lot, had nice conversations and smoked a lot. It was a really great way to end the evening and we will definitely do it again.

Hallo liebe Meetup Freunde

wie versprochen, werde ich euch heute zeigen, wie ich zum Hive Meetup nach Aachen gekommen bin. Wie ich bereits in meinem Vorberichtspost berichtet habe, konnte ich leider nur den Samstag fahren. Nicht ganz so schlimm, denn an dem Tag, war ja eh das Hauptprogramm. Samstag wurden alle Vorträge der einzelnen Sprecher abgehalten. Also bin ich gegen 12 Uhr in Solingen losgefahren. Ich brauchte ca. eine Stunde bis Aachen, da bei mir in Solingen alle Auffahrten auf die Autobahn derzeit gesperrt sind, musste ich den Umweg über Langenfeld in Kauf nehmen und von dort auf die A3 fahren. Dadurch hatte ich etwas Verspätung, doch den Rest bin ich super durch gekommen.

Als ich in Aachen ankam, musste ich erst einmal einen Parkplatz finden, was nicht schwer war, da es direkt vor der Location einen riesigen Parkplatz gab, sodass ich mein Auto schnell abstellte und alle mitgebrachten Sachen auslud. Ich konnte bereits von weitem @quekery, @louis88 und @thatgermandude erkennen, die grade draußen standen und geraucht haben. Nachdem ich die drei begrüßt hatte, gingen wir hinein und @quekery führte mich zu den anderen Teilnehmer. Ich stellte mich allen vor, die ich noch nicht kannte, und natürlich hatte ich einige Jungs schon bei anderen Treffen gesehen. Da ich schon öfters bei Meetups war, kannte ich einige Leute schon wie @tibfox, @achimmertens @solarwarrior, @rivalzzz @detlev mit Familie.

Nachdem ich alle begrüßt und mich vorgestellt hatte, hatten wir noch etwas Zeit, bevor es einen kleinen Imbiss gab. Da ich erst gegen 13.30 Uhr da war, hatte ich leider schon zwei oder drei Redner verpasst. Nach der Pizza bin ich noch schnell eine rauchen gegangen, bevor es weiter ging mit den Rednern. Der Präsentationsraum war sehr cool, dort konnten alle gemütlich sitzen und jeder hatte genug Platz um sich auszubreiten, da sehr viel ihre Laptops für die Präsentationen dabei hatten.

Den ersten Redner, den ich mitbekommen habe, war Ivan Dimitrov, der über The Blockchain Reallabor gesprochen hat. Bedauerlicherweise war sein Vortrag auf Englisch und ich hab daher nichts verstanden und kann euch auch nicht dazu berichten. Zu ihm hatte ich auch leider danach kein Kontakt und wir haben nicht miteinander reden können. Blöde Sprachbarriere.

Als nächsten kam dann @quekery der die HiQ mit all ihren Fassetten , wie Hiq-vote, Bots und den Smartcast vorgestellt hat. Natürlich nicht zu vergessen ihr selbst entwickeltes spiel Craftink vorgestellt hat. Da ich ja auch mit den Jungs zusammen arbeite und auch schon in Hamburg bei der Buzzparty am Start war, kannte ich die Präsentation schon. Das, was jedoch anderes war, diesmal war das nicht @smooms die Präsentation gemacht hat, sondern @quekery, der schon ein wenig angespannt war. Doch ich muss sagen, er hat es echt souverän gemacht und hat es super rübergebracht.

Im Anschluss kam auch wieder ein alter bekannter, den ich schon von einem anderen Aachen Meetup kenne. @achimmertens hatte mir damals schon was von seinem Projekt kurz erzählt. Doch diesmal gab es auch Anschauungsmaterial und ich konnte es diesmal deutlich besser verstehen wie noch beim letzten. Sein Projekt, für den er auch den Account @advertisingbot2 erstellt hat, veranstaltet kleine Gewinnspiele, wo User von Hive teilnehmen können und dafür nichts weiter tun müssen, außer kleine Werbetexte in Ihren eigenen Beiträgen zu veröffentlichen. Mit der Veröffentlichung der Werbetexte machen sie dann an der Verlosung des Preispools teil, den @achimmertens aus seiner Tasche finanziert.

Dazu hat er noch einen coolen Ansatz gemacht, dass er gerne Leute finden möchte, die Jobs oder kleine Tätigkeiten auf Hive anbieten oder suchen und über Hive zusammen finden. Diese Idee fand ich richtig gut, da diese für viele Projekte sich einen riesigen Mehrwert hätte. Wenn man z. B. eine Grafikerin braucht, stellt man einfach eine Anfrage und wenn auf Hive jemand ist und was dazuverdienen möchte, kann er sich auf die Anzeige melden. So werden sicher einige Leute zusammen finden und tolle Projekte könnten entstehen.

Der nächste Redner war ein neues Gesicht für mich. @dercio heißt er und ich wusste nichts über ihn. Jedoch ist er der Gründer von Birdlabs, was ich auch nicht kannte. Leider kann ich euch zu ihm nicht viel erzählen, weil ich nicht wirklich viel verstanden habe, auch wenn er seine Präsentation auf Deutsch gehalten hat. Durch andere Post weiß ich jetzt zu mindestens, dass er ein Tool namens Talent Layer entwickelt hat, was Bewertungen dezentral speichert und so Reputationsdaten schützt und verifiziert.

Nach der Präsentation von @dercio meldete sich Detlev noch einmal zu Wort und sagte, dass wir nicht mehr so viel Zeit hätten und er die nächsten beiden Präsentationen gerne schneller halten würde, da das Essen bereits auf dem Weg sei. Also machte sich @tibfox auf den Weg nach vorne und stellte seine Projekte und vieles mehr vor. Er begann mit Buzzparty und dass er versucht, so viele Meetups wie möglich unter Hivian zu organisieren. Er verbindet viele Länder durch seine Community und sorgt dafür, dass die Meetups einen Platz auf Hive haben, wo man sich treffen kann, um Meetups zu organisieren, er hilft bei der Organisation und bewirbt die Meetups.
Er hat auch seine Community DIYHub vorgestellt, wo man Do-it-yourself-Beiträge oder nützliche Anleitungen veröffentlichen kann. Es ist egal, worum es geht, man kann seiner Fantasie und Kreativität freien Lauf lassen. Aber es sollten anspruchsvolle und hilfreiche Dinge sein, dann kann es auch sein, dass man ein paar tolle Upvotes bekommt

Der Letzte, der nach vorne kam, war @detlev, der in einer extrem kurzen Version seinen Bier-Token und den Bier- saturday vorstellte und auch erwähnte, dass es regelmäßige Treffen im Aachen geben wird. Seine Präsentation war wirklich kurz, weil er noch schnell mit uns zu Abend essen wollte und sonst das Essen kalt wird.

Zu Abend gab es dann 3 unterschiedliche Chili con Carne mit Brot, Tzatziki und Sandwiches. Wir haben uns alle die Bäuche vollgeschlagen und ich muss sagen, es war wirklich lecker. Großes Lob an die Köchin. Während des Essens verbrachte ich auch ein wenig Zeit mit den Präsenten und schnappte mir ein paar Sachen, denn es sollte mal wieder alles weg. Ich habe dann an auch noch @themyscira gedacht und konnte ein paar Sachen für sie mitnehmen, die ich ihr jetzt nur noch schicken muss.

Nach dem Abendessen fingen wir langsam an, die Location aufzuräumen und die Sachen zu packen, die mitgenommen werden müssen. Ich dachte eigentlich, dass es etwas länger gehen würde, aber da Deutschland an diesem Tag bei der EM spielte, wollten einige der Teilnehmer das Spiel sehen. @detlev und einige andere wollten gegen 18 Uhr los und wir haben geholfen, alles zu verladen. Nachdem alles verladen war, war die Hälfte von uns schon verschwunden und nur @tibfox, @quekery, @thatgermandude und ich blieben übrig und wir überlegten, was wir noch machen könnten. @tibfox entschied sich, eine Sightseeing-Tour durch Aachen zu machen und wir anderen 3 beschlossen zu @thatgermandude zu fahren, um bei ihm den Abend beim Deutschlandspiel ausklingen zu lassen. Wir haben viel gelacht, nette Gespräche dabei geführt und ordentlich geraucht. Es war echt ein toller Abschluss und wir werden den Abend sicher wiederholen.
