Brave jackdaws.
You know, I used to hear a lot of epithets, one way or another, related to birds, but I didn’t think that one day the word courage would become an epithet for a bird called a jackdaw.
As a rule, these gray birds behave inconspicuously, quietly thinking about what to steal and from whom, in some ways they behave like magpies, but the magpie is a brighter bird in all respects.
So, one day, I saw two jackdaws attacking a kestrel hawk, which was sitting on the edge of the roof of a high-rise building.
Apparently this was not part of the plans of the jackdaws, I mean the presence of a bird of prey and they, in turn, flew up from the back of the hawk and pecked it.
While one jackdaw was preparing to attack from the rear, the second jackdaw made a deceptive movement from the front, which distracted the hawk and received a blow in the back with its beak.
It was an interesting sight, although it happened at a very great distance from me and from the ability of my camera to capture this picture well.
Definitely, the jackdaw is one of the smartest and bravest birds, which shows us that there is no need to be afraid of birds of prey; one day, they will become acquainted with sharp beaks that pluck out all their feathers, if these predators do not hide in the deepest and darkest hollow.
