Participating in LEO Power Up day

On the 15th of every month, it is celebrated as LEO power-up day. This is the day when we power up our LEO tokens and share our support. I don't specifically target this date but I try to accumulate all the LEO I get from posting and curation rewards. My LEO account is bala-leo and that is where I have my LEO stake.

LEO is one of the oldest tokens on Hive Engine. I still remember the good old days when the token's value used to be very little during the Steem Engine days. During the transition of Steem to Hive Engine, the token value dropped even further. I believe that is when many people bought and accumulated a lot of tokens. Today it might look like the price is not very good but I have seen LEO even lower than this and I used to regret that I should have invested back then. Today many big LEO holders are someone who invested during those days.

Coming back to today's topic, I managed to power up some LEO today on my account. I know it was not a very big amount but definitely a good one in my opinion. As I said, whatever I received, I saved them up and powered them today. I would like to power up more LEO in the future but only after I complete my year-end goal of reaching 100k Hive Power. It would be my primary focus and now is the best time to accumulate more Hive as well as more LEO because bear markets are the best time to get them cheap.

I know the above is not a very big amount but I'm happy that I could participate in LEO Power Up day without missing it. Soon I would like to power up more LEO tokens. After I power up LEO tokens, I usually delegate the tokens to @india-leo for earning 100% curation reward share for the manual curation the community is doing. There are a few awesome curators who do manual curation with @india-leo and share all the rewards earned back to the delegators.

One of the good things about the @india-leo account is that the account is also slowly growing in terms of LEO power, the curation reward earned by that account from the staked LEO also goes to the curators. So, the more LEO the account gets, the more APR people can get for their delegations. Currently, manual curation gives close to 6.5 % APR on average. As the LEO holdings on that account increase, the delegator's share would also increase and APR would also increase.

Aiming to reach 15k LEO power

After my today's staking, I have reached a total of 11850 LEO power. I need more than 3k Leo still to reach my goal. I don't have anything set in stone, but I hope to reach 15k LEO power soon. I'm saving every LEO I get to reach that goal. I don't think it would be sufficient just to use the LEO earned alone to reach this goal, there is a high possibility that I would end up purchasing LEO tokens from the market to complete my goal. As I said, my current focus is on completing my Hive Power-up goals and after that, I would start focusing on reaching 15k LEO power which would be the minimum thing.
