In an online/digital game, it is very common to have an avatar associated with the user profile. An online player avatar usually means a digital character/profile image that represents a player in-game. Mostly it is cartoon or anime character associated with the user profile, which user pick from available options from the game, or sometimes user is allowed to use their own customized image or avatar.
Though, Avatar is technically an image but on a online game or digital space it shows the player character, bringing a very specific recognition and shows the mood of the player too. Also it can help the player to conceal their real image if they do not want to.
This week Splinterland's community challenge is focused on the Avatars and Exemplars as Splinterland's recently announced about the introduction of the Avatars and Examplars in the game.
Interestingly, Splinterland's Avatars are not actually a simple avatar, but instead they are customizable and upgradable cards too. Depending upon, how each players upgrade and customize their avatar, different players will have different avatars in the long run. These avatar can be treated as a card too in the brawls and the tournament. This really look a powerful concept and do provide motivation to the player to keep customizing it according to their taste and upgrade it.
So I also played a liitle against my avatar and able to add some badges on my avatar that shows my accomplishment in the game.
I added 4 badges in my avatar, 2 in the top right and the other 2 in the top left. Badges are currently pre-existing, and you can select whichever is available to you. There is one specific badge exist if you have staked more than 250K SPS. Since my SPS stake is greater than 250K SPS so this badge is available for me, but those who do not have that much SPS stakes, this badge might be locked for them.
As I already mentioned, these avatars are not limited to the cosmetic changes, but they are upgradable to a powerful cards that can be played in the Brawls and tournaments. So there upgrade and customization are not free as such. Uprgrading the Exemplar levels will require to burn Glints and each profile changes require the potions namely Polymorph Potion and Capacity Flux. Use of these potions also helps in curbing the players urge to keep indefinitely change the profile as it is not "fully" free,
Two new consumable items will support customization and experimentation:
Polymorph Potion Allows players to reselect their AVATAR’s bloodline and core physical traits. This lets you change who your AVATAR is, while keeping all other progress intact.
Capacity Flux Allows players to reset their EXEMPLAR’s stats, refunding all spent points so they can be reallocated in a new way. This makes it possible to experiment with different builds without permanent commitment.

Are craftable Are tradeable Can be acquired via the marketplace These items ensure that AVATARS and EXEMPLARS remain flexible, future-proof, and player-friendly as new content, strategies, and options are introduced.
Right now, there is no information how these potions can be crafted but post do mentions that these potions will be craftable. I am assuming, it is going to add one more utility to the land. As they team rightly said it is the "next evolution" of the Splinterland's and I will be also interested to see how my fellow players and I will be embracing this change and what tactical strategies can be deployed to get maximum advantage of this change.
