Nokia returns with classic phones with buttons - who are they for?

HMD, the company that holds the license for the Nokia brand, recently surprised by launching three new push-button phones: Nokia 215 4G, Nokia 225 4G and Nokia 235 4G.

These phones come a week after the launch of HMD's Pulse line of smartphones, piqued the curiosity of many. Although earlier rumors suggested that HMD might abandon the Nokia brand, the company proved otherwise, banking on an increasingly meaningful nostalgia among users.

The release of these simple phones might seem like a step back in time to the era of rudimentary mobile phones. Still, HMD seems to have a well-defined plan: to offer an alternative to the digital overload of the smartphone era.

Finally, what do you think about these types of releases - A step back in time? Or a leap into the future?

These models come as an alternative to ubiquitous smartphones, offering a simpler experience and more focused on essential functions: calls, messages and access to basic information. All three phones feature QVGA screens, swappable 1450mAh batteries, Unisoc T107 processors and S30+ operating system.

Although the launch of these phones evokes feelings of nostalgia for the days of simple mobile phones, it is important to note that HMD seems to see them as more of a niche, focusing mainly on launching smartphones under its own brand.

It remains to be seen whether these push-button phones will succeed in attracting a significant audience or remain mere collector's items for Nokia brand nostalgics. One thing is certain: their launch proves that there is a desire for simpler alternatives to the ubiquitous smartphone, offering a way to disconnect from the digital world and focus on the essentials.
