It's been a lot more grinding than I expected, but after battle after battle, I made it to level 10! This is not the maximum level, but it's where I'm going to stay for a while.
I used the same three cards every time to win battle after battle, maximizing my XP each fight.
These state pretty much assure me a victory each time.

Those cards are excellent. As long as they don't fizzle when they attack, which could happen when fighting faster cards, you should be victorious as you said.
