RACKLIZE YOUR SPACE

I have always been someone that loves it when there is enough space around to walk or lie down on. It messes with my mind when my space is cluttered with a lot of things, mostly unnecessary things. No matter how a space may seem organized, I always feel there is still more space that can be created if a particular object wasn’t somewhere. Over time, I started learning different ways of arranging a room that won’t just be nice to me but to anyone that sees it. The best way I found was actually creating more space while cleaning, especially in a very crowded space.

I’m still trying to get better at this because if you will agree with me, staying alone is way easier when it comes to saving more space than staying with someone. I’m not someone that can stay alone for a long time even though that is what I want. So most times I just try to do my thing when I’m alone before the others come. I have different ways I try to save space in any environment I find myself and I’ll be sharing some that I find really effective especially as a minimalist.

A Rack. Having a rack is a great space saver. It helps you keep your stuffs organized and also create more space for things. Here in my hostel, we make use of racks for most of our stuffs and it has helped us save so much space. We have a rack for our body cream, combs, hair treatments and other little things that can easily make a place look scattered. Since I live with my roommate, she is not much of a minimalist. She enjoys keeping things even when she doesn’t have need of them and the moment I do away with them, it just might not end well so the least I do is help her put them in a more appropriate position.

We also have a shoe rack where we keep our foot-wears. I particularly like this rack because without it, the room would have looked really clumsy and dirty. We have a lot of foot-wears both the ones we don’t use and the ones we use. Since they are not mine, I can’t just throw them out or give them to someone because my roommate makes use of them at random times, lol. Back at home, we don’t have a shoe rack and it makes the house look really unkempt no matter how much we arrange the whole place so I have to do clean up at least 3 times in a week.

We also have a rack for plates and other utensils. This helps us to drain water out of the plates and spoons after washing them and of course, it keeps them organized and attractive. And also, for our clothes, we are lucky to have a built in wardrobe where we can keep our clothes away from every eyes. That’s a place where we hide our laziness, lol. But yeah, having a place where you can keep things together is a good way to save some space and that’s exactly how I save more space in my room.
