MY MINIMALIST MANIFESTO

Having a personal style is what sets us apart in the different aspects of our lives. For me, it’s about living a life that makes a positive impact. I prioritize simplicity and elegance in my day to day life, rather than just seeking fun and fun entertainment. Calling myself for questioning anytime I do something has helped me reviewed different aspect of my life that needs improvement. Growing up as a girl, I have hardly ever wanted something luxurious, I feel it is not my style. Anyways, I believe my background had a role to play in all these.

I have been privileged to interact and deal with people on different levels and in some ways, that has affected my choice of what style I want from myself whether or not I can provide whatever I need. I believe when you see me, you see simplicity. I’m part of the so many people that believe in letting our natural beauty shine. I sometimes feel the need to go extraordinary sometimes but I can literally count how many times that has happened. I enjoy looking in the mirror to see just me and me alone, no extras or what have you.

My sense of fashion is a bit awkward to some persons though but that is basically me showing off my brand, lol. The beautiful part is, they will find it awkward but still appreciate it, hehe. I doubt I will ever be that one person who dress to kill. Almost everyday, I think of ways to make my life simpler especially when it comes to my looks. At some point, I felt I was doing too much and like I said, I make reviews of myself every now and then make necessary adjustments. The truth is, if you see any upgrades in my overall outlook, just know that happened because I don’t want to ever send the message of being wrenched and not simple.

Did you ask why I care? Well, it’s simple. Most people, the moment they hear of minimalism, they hear poor people but that is not true. For me, I even see them as more luxurious people and that is because, they don’t go for quantity but quality. If there is one thing I know of most minimalists I have interacted with, they don’t mind spending all they have at a moment for something they are very sure will last them for a really long time. To a maximalist, they won’t get the picture clearly but then, we know exactly how much that will save us more in years to come.

When it comes to how minimalism has affected my lifestyle, it is so evident that I need not spell it out for you to get the message. I do my best to come out presentable as much as I can and most times, that costs me so little but I still get all the nice comments from people. Today, I focused more on my looks and that is because I have more images of how I look most of the days but then, my home is another place that screams how much minimalist lifestyle has affected me. But the fact that I live with a maximalist disrupts things most of the time but then, I’m managing just fine.

My fashion style has been more elegant though simple. Personally, I find it hard to make my hair do but I always make sure to wash it and keep it clean as much as possible. People love my hair anytime I decide to go an extra mile but then, I always enjoy twisting my hair because that lasts longer and whenever I decide to loose the twists, I can always style it to something really beautiful.

I also enjoy wearing casual clothes and footwear and that is because I feel a lot comfortable in them. Right now, I have a pant I bought last year and it is one of my favorite now. On days when I don’t feel like thinking so much of what to wear, I just go with my pants and shirt, usually a vintage shirt.

The minimalist practices it’s just a great excuse to live my life the way I have always wanted and enjoyed. It comes easily for me sometimes but other times, I must say I struggle too but it only makes me even better in the end.
