Yeah, I dared to do something differently and I was happy with myself in the end even though it wasn’t easy at first to get comfortable with doing things differently.
A lot of times we are so comfortable doing things the same old way and when change comes we see it as the wrong thing. We see it as being selfish, blunt, inconsiderate, hate, wicked and what have you. We all have different ways we see things. Different opinions that are sometimes right and other times wrong. We struggle to accept changes (this could also be in form of truth) even when deep down we know that this change is the best for us. We let the pride of being principled or disciplined blind our judgment and we fail to dare to do things differently to get a different and better result.
It’s mindful Monday and recently I have been daring to do things differently and I see myself differently and people too. A lot of people will change when we dare to do things differently. It’s one way to shake off the negative energy from us. Also is a good way to avoid unnecessary compromises. Doing something different automatically helps us filter some wrong people from our lives. If we keep doing things the same way, people tend to think they know us and that we are probably not capable of changing and that is one thing that we have to do to move to the next level most times - CHANGE.
A lot of people think they have a good judgment of who we are but the moment we dare to do things differently, it teaches them that we all are capable of change. Being mindful works side by side with being intentional. We don’t have to stick to the norms when we know the norms have become abnormal. Our opinions will not always be right no matter how much we think we are good at making decisions. One day it will fail us if we can’t dare to do things differently.
It was on a Sunday, I woke up early but instead of drafting out a post as I’d normally do, I just went straight to preparing for the service. I was really early so I decided to walk. My roommates didn’t say anything but I’m sure they were surprised. That was the first time I had ever left the house that early. It was fulfilling and nice. And I think I want to try that again. This time, I’ll walk slower. It was at that point I was reminded of the need to dare to do things differently not just trying to be different. Change the routine and see what happens next.
Thank you for reading through. ❤️
Sometimes, we get so used to doing things certain ways and get scared of the slightest drift from the supposed norm. In the end, we will still be fine and adapt to the change. It's good to do things differently 😌
It is necessary to do things differently. That’s what proves that we understand what it means that we are capable of making mistakes not doing the wrong thing and saying that we are humans after all.
Thank you for your input, Kachy. 🥰
You are welcome. 😊

You know, there's nothing worse than people saying 'you ALWAYS do that' to me, because it's not true. And if it was, I'd know it and would be working on changing it, so it feels unfair.
Exactly! I know me better. Yes, it’s fine to tell me areas you think I can do better but don’t act like you really know me because you obviously don’t.
Thank you for this contribution, Riverflows. 🤗
It’s my pleasure. 🌺
Slow living. You know those times it’ll feel like you’re not going anywhere simply because you’ve accepted the change. I like it. Change. Change is constant even when it’s not welcome. Change happens when we least expect and when we plan. Change. Such a cool word.
I agree with you. Change is indeed a cool word. It has so much Steeze because whether or not you are ready for it, it comes.
Thank you for your thoughtful input, Rara. 🌹
