A year full of disappointments

Hello everyone, it's me again. Today, I encountered yet another disappointment in the economy. Namely, I went out in the morning to pick elderberries from the bushes because I had a special order, and as it turned out, hardly anything had grown. Unfortunately, a year full of rain, sad, grey weather and cooling temperatures was not only disappointing for us as a society, but also for the soil and plants. Of course, I have already seen empty cherry and sweet cherry trees, blackberry bushes that have barely produced any fruit, and red currants that are lacking in berries. Unfortunately, everything on my farm is grown outdoors, without covers, sprinklers or heating, and is mainly at the mercy of Mother Nature. The same thing happened to my elderberry bush. Even though I delayed harvesting it, not much has changed there. Most of the fruit is not yet ripe, and the coming autumn will certainly not help in its development. Of course, I picked what I could, but there was really not much, and it does not look like there will be anything more than that. The situation is similar with apples, which are just developing, and the time when they should be picked is slowly approaching. Unfortunately, the vast majority of fruit this year will not have the opportunity to fully grow before the cold weather sets in, because, as I mentioned and as you have probably noticed yourselves, the cold season has arrived earlier than expected. So I took a handful of elderberries with me, which I promised to deliver, and went to work with them, dropping off the order on the way. Of course, I did most of the steps towards my goal on the spot, where the evening allowed me to do so. I certainly managed to make up for a few by running around the yard, but it wasn't a surprisingly large amount.

Witam serdecznie, z tej strony znowu ja, dziś spotkałem się z kolejnym rozczarowaniem w gospodarce. A mianowicie poszedłem rano zebrać czarny bez z krzaczków, bo dostałem specjalne zamówienie i jak się okazało - ledwo cokolwiek z niego wyrosło. Niestety rok pełen deszczu, smutnej, szarej pogody i ochłodzenia, nie był zawodny tylko dla nas, jako społeczeństwa, ale także dla gleb i roślin. Oczywiście widziałem już puste drzewa wiśniowe oraz czereśniowe, krzaki z jeżyną, które również ledwo wypuściły jakiekolwiek owoce, czerwone porzeczki, którym brakowało porzeczek. Wszystko u mnie na gospodarstwie jest niestety hodowane na zewnątrz, bez płacht, bez spryskiwaczy, ogrzewania i jest ono zdane głównie na humory matki natury. To samo spotkało mnie na krzaczku z czarnym bzem, mimo że zwlekałem w czasie z jego zbiorami, nadal niewiele się tam pozmieniało. Większość owoców jeszcze nie dojrzała i nadchodząca jesień z pewnością nie pomoże w ich rozwoju. Zebrałem oczywiście to, co dało radę, ale było tego naprawdę niewiele i nie zapowiada się na to, żeby pojawiło się cokolwiek ponad to. Podobnie wygląda sytuacja z jabłkami, które dopiero co się rozwijają, a nadchodzi powoli pora, kiedy powinno się je zbierać. Niestety duża większość owoców w tym roku nie dostanie możliwości, żeby całkowicie wyrosnąć przed ochłodzeniem, bo jak już wspominałem i pewnie sami zauważyliście, zimna pora nadeszła szybciej, niż było to przewidziane. Zabrałem więc ze sobą garstkę czarnego bzu, który obiecałem dowieźć i pojechałem z nim do pracy, gdzie po drodze podrzuciłem zamówienie na miejsce. Większość kroków do celu zrobiłem oczywiście już na miejscu, gdzie pozwoliła mi na to wieczorna pora. Parę z pewnością udało mi się nadrobić bieganiem po podwórku, nie była to jednak zaskakująco duża ilość.
