Rain, Snails, and Nursery: My Life These Past Few Months
Endless Rains and Changing Days
Most of these days, for the last 3 months, I think, have been the same. Why, you might ask? Well, it's been raining for the last 3, 4, 5 months.
It started raining in May. It's been May, June, July, August, and August is about to end. And every month, for at least 3 weeks, it's raining. This is unusual for my city, but I'm loving it. I'm loving it because the more the rain, the more the water, and the water supply for my city is enough.
But when it comes to business, things are suffering. Anyways, I don't want to go into that in detail.
Balancing Work and Projects
The day was good. I did a few tasks, I had a client, I had to talk to him, I had a few phone calls. And I did all those tasks, and I am proud of myself. I'm happy that I am able to complete all my tasks and be on time.
One of my clients has asked me to complete one of their projects. A gardening project, it's a landscaping project, and I am ready to complete it. Hopefully, within the next week, I will be traveling to Pune, get all the stuff that's needed, and then start the project within a week.
I want to end it as soon as possible because the client is ready to move into their new house that they built. I had to arrange red soil for the client, and I have done that.
But unfortunately, because of rain, we are not able to transport it to the site, to the location. It will take another two, three, four days, because it's been raining consistently, and I have to be a little bit late. The laborers, the workers can't do much when it's raining.
Life at the Nursery
The trees at the nursery are doing so well that I am surprised, because it's been raining consistently and I haven't been taking care of them. I haven't added any kind of fertilizer, I haven't given them any kind of pesticide or insecticide or fungicide.
And the rainwater is the best medicine, best fertilizer, best booster for every kind of plant, and they are doing so well. I still do need to take care of a few things and hopefully in the next few days I'll have some workers at the nursery and we will do some maintenance work as well.
I have a few plants that I am thinking of making multiple cuttings and planting them. I have a few other ideas as well, so hopefully I'll be able to do that soon.
The Snail Invasion
We have been attacked by at least a few hundred snails. They are eating my plants, they are eating a lot of leaves. I am not sure how to deal with them. Tomorrow I am going to visit one of the fertilizer and insecticide shops and have a talk with the owner and see how I can deal with them.
I have tried to search on Google about remedies on how to take care of snails and most of them are not so good. So what I am going to do is I am going to ask for a chemical pesticide that I can spray or do something so that the snails leave me alone.
If you have any idea about how to deal with snails, please make sure to comment and give me suggestions. And if I find your suggestion useful, I will try it on my nursery and see how they work.
On Google, the only thing that I found is that snails don't like salt and if I pour salt on them, they might die. I haven't done that yet. I am not sure if it will work, but the best thing to do is to talk to an expert and then see how things go.
Avoiding Chemical Solutions
I try to avoid every kind of chemical pesticide or insecticide because it not only kills the bad pests, but it also kills and harms the plants and the soil and the good pests as well. So, this is the reason I haven't tried any kind of remedy to remove the snails from the nest.
What I do is I pick them and throw them into a different place where I think they survive, but I'm not sure.
