
My goodness! I couldn't believe the numbers of canada geese on the lake at Ifield Mill Pond. There were more on the other side of the boardwalk where we walked. A lot of them are this years goslings now almost fully grown with their adult plumage.
Another good image was the swan family have a siesta on the bank.

There are many species of wild birds and fowl on our lakes. Another one worth a mention is the crested grebe. They are not as easy to photograph as they are much more timid, staying far away from humans. However, I managed a picture at high magnification of a parent bird carrying one of its young on its back. 😀.

This picture was taken with my mobile phone so it is not great but does clearly show the young bird on it's back. This is apparently something they do a lot.
