A couple of weeks ago, I managed to pick up an injury to my foot while running. I'm not exactly sure what the problem is, but my middle toe was extremely painful when I walked or ran.
Being a bit of an idiot I tried to go for a couple of runs anyway, but each time, it resulted in the pain being worse. Finally, last week, I decided it needed complete rest for a while. Hence, I've not been getting anywhere near 5000 steps a day.
Today was my first test to see how things were improving, and my wife and I went for a walk along the two rivers footpath close to our house.
The weather was very hot today, which probably helped to slow us down a bit, and I'm glad to report that my foot seemed to cope with the exercise without further damage.
Here's to hoping my run tomorrow is equally successful.
