It is no longer news that Everton owners - the American group called The Friedkin Group (TFG) are exploring the sale of the club less than two years after taking control. TFG secured a 99.5% stake of the club, thus succeeding former owner Farhad Moshiri in 2024 after Everton had fallen into financial crisis.
The American group completed a takeover of the club in 2024 in a deal believed to be worth in excess of £400m. They also midwifed the the Toffees moving into a new stadium called Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Now The Friedkin Group (TFG) are seriously exploring the possibility of relinguishing their stakes to a would be buyer less than two years after taking control.
I do hope such a move will not plunge the club to another financial crisis.
