My Actifit Report Card: August 22 2026
I am sure Manchester United and Michael Carrick are yet to settle for their best starting eleven, otherwise how can we explain the result we all saw? This same scenario played out last year under Ruben Amorim where Man Utd also lost their first match of the season (1-0) against Arsenal. Dark clouds are already gathering.
Hull City had a dream start to their return to topflight football as they ran away with a comfortable (2-0) win against Manchester United. It is even a result that surprised the host as Man Utd were lethargic in both attack and defence allowing the home side to slot in two unreplied goals.
The manner in which the goals came will definitely have Man Utd thinking as they all came from set pieces.
Michael Carrick should as a matter of urgency do well and settle with a back four and by extension a staring eleven.
This is a bad time to be a Manchester United fan really. I am saddened.
