My Actifit Report Card: August 12 2026
Where did we actually get all these things wrong? The route to the qualification for the Women's World Cup in Brazil by the Super Falcons of Nigeria have become similar to the same route taken by their male counterpart few months ago.
Four teams qualify automatically for the said world cup and the four semifinalists of Algeria, Cameroon, Malawi and Morocco have snapped them up. The remaining slot will be determined between Nigeria vs South Africa play against each other and pick the sole slot for Africa. The winner will thereafter progress to the first phase of the inter-confederation playoffs, which will involve teams from the Asia, South America, and Oceania (OFC).
Should the Super Falcons survive the above stage, they will then qualify for the second and final phase of the inter-confederation playoffs.
The Super Eagles took that route and crashed out. Now their female counterpart have fallen into the same trap. They have South Africa to subdue first before any hopes of advancing to the first inter-federation playoffs. Will their own case be different from their male counterpart? Well, let's watch and see.
