I didn't expect Argentina to foot drag in beating a team like Cape Verde really. But after 90 minutes of play in regulation time Argentina was all square with Cape Verde (1-1). For many onlookers, it was a giant where we'll see a team like Cape Verde turn giant killers. For the records, Argentina is 2nd in the FIFA rankings while Cape Verde is 64th in the FIFA rankings.
A world cup debutant - Cape Verde twice came back to equalise against the holders Argentina and it took them a 111th-minute Diney Borges own goal to save the blushes of holders Argentina from one of the biggest shocks in World Cup history as they scraped past Cape Verde in the last 32. The game ended (3-2).
It was another sad day for Africa as Ghana crashed out of the world cup having been beaten by Colombia in the round of 32. Ghana failed to register a shot on target thought-out the game. And with their elimination, Ghana
became the seventh of nine African sides in the last 32 to be eliminated at this stage.
Africa now have only two teams remaining in the competition - Morocco and Egypt.
