100,000 HP Staked: The Long and Winding Road

So I did a thing the other day... With the price of HIVE dropping below $.20 again, I decided to pull a little bit more of my HBD out of savings. Wouldn't you know it, by the time the three day unlock and finished up, the price of HIVE was back over $.20 (barely), but I went ahead and moved that HBD into HIVE anyway.

As long as I have been on HIVE, I have been eyeing that 100K HIVE Power mark. I know it's not as big of a deal these days as it used to be (especially with the price being so depressed), but it has been a long journey for me to get to this point. Let's call it seven and a half years of photos, typing, comments, tribe coins, and all of the other drama that takes place here on HIVE.

Instead of leaving all of my newly swapped HIVE liquid as I have been doing lately (waiting for that pump to move it back into HBD), I decided to bite the bullet and power up the 1700 or so I needed to push me over that 100K mark.

I had thought about waiting until the first of the month, but let's be honest, it was too exciting of a moment to wait another five days for! Besides, I'll still probably power up some more HIVE on HPUD anyway, it's just what I do.

It is time again for another Finance Friday/Friday Finance. This is a series I started where I talk about random bits of financial stuff that I have seen, gathered, or experienced during the week. I hope as a reader you find it informational, entertaining, or both. I also hope it can generate some good discussion and edify the community.

So where do I go from here? Well, I'm not really one to rest on my laurels, so if I were you, I would expect me to just keep doing what I have always been doing here on HIVE. If I am being honest, there isn't much different between 98,000 HP and 100,000 HP. It's more of a mental thing, and I am okay with that.

It's funny because once upon a time I would have imagined the crossover to 100K being some kind of magical door that opens giving me access to the inner circle of HIVE. For real, I really thought it was going to be like that. Like I was suddenly a member of the HIVE Illuminati privy to all the secrets and tricks to propel me to whale status.

I realize that isn't the case now, but I am still proud of where I am in relation to where I started. As the title indicates, it has been a long and winding journey!

Taking Stock

With the recent increase in the price of silver lately, my Fortuna Silver Mines stock has seen a slight rise. It's now sitting at $6.53 which is a decent gain from where I bought it. This stock has been a bit all over the place in the past five years or so, but it always seems to come back to that pretty steady point right around five dollars per share. Meanwhile, Kinross Gold is also up a bit in premarket trading around $15.50 per share. Chances are by the time you read this, those prices will be long gone. The markets are even more unpredictable these days than ever.

I saw a news story about SMR this morning stating that the price "plunged". I opened up my stock ticker app to see that it had fallen a meer $4 per share from the previous price down to $38 or so per share. Given the fact that I bought most of my shares at $10, I would hardly call that a plunge, but it would see them FUD machine isn't isolated to just crypto.

SMR is still a strong play in my opinion.

It's actually a bit hard to believe that silver was sitting under $30 per ounce just a few short months ago.

Coin Gecko

Anyone here use Coin Gecko? Have you been collecting your "candies" still in the app or did you give up on that a long time ago? Besides being able to buy some books on cryptocurrency and a few other things, there hasn't been much utility for candies in the past. That changed last week when they allowed you to turn in some of your candies to get a percentage multiplier on credits for this token called Pointless.

I'm currently sitting at 116,866 on the leaderboard, so this token isn't going to make me a millionaire or probably even a hundredaire (holy crap, that's actually a word!).

Most likely I am better off just focusing on my HIVE account and continuing to grow that.

Congrats and it is a big mark for sure!
The energy is brewing with a lot of long time crypto guys and some of these projects. Things have gotten low enough on some of this stuff and we all anticipate the 4 year cycle to pop off to finish out Q3 and Q4 out strong. So while we will be preparing for the 4th of July and all that we are also licking our chops at some of the lower pricing on various alts.
HIVE is in an interesting position. Almost in a better spot than EOS or ICP that have way bigger market caps. I know that sounds crazy to some people but I have felt the pulse of this stuff. Most of the investors on those chains are on Suicide watch unfortunately and what is worse about ICP is that they have Dfinity to point fingers at so it is kind of like pointing fingers at Block One with the EOS situation.
ICP has OpenChat which is pretty amazing but the price has gotten it's ass beat and isn't in a long tail. More constant decline with very little volume.

I was just looking at ICP again and I wouldn't be surprised if the price touches $3. It will be like the Kiss of Poseidon when you take a dump in a porta potty and the water splashes up on you. Uuuhhhhhhhhhhhh

I'm calculating where I'm going to take massive action. We need to finish this cycle strong and stay in orbit indefinitely.

Hive isn’t going near 2021 high. Not even closed not until we change the waste and remove the massive pressure the HBD sales put on Hive via the stabilizer due to the DHF HBD printing levels versus our cap. Hive is continuing to hit teens while rest of space is higher than last time it did. Hive price wise is in a bear market while bitcoin and most alts booming past 2022 cycle lows which hive is a rare case we are now lower then 2022 low (.2488 cents) !PIZZA !ALIVE

Well that debt ratio is relatively low.
HIVE has really never been marketed.
To me it would first and foremost take ad engines on top of the main posting platforms that take that revenue and do Hive Buy backs and to opt out users have to pay which also does buy backs.
Then several more well marketed Play 2 Earn games that are taking a percentage and doing buy backs.

It's always felt to me a lot of the witnesses don't want to see it grow. They are just content collecting the witness rewards and calling it a day.
