Quiet Beginnings, Open Heart
I believe everybody has a purpose in life. Hello I am @noddie21. I am turning 40 this coming September 5, 2025. I am still living in my family and serve as a bread winner since my father was gone for a couple of years ago. The second child among the four siblings. You often see me as somehow quiet in nature but with a big and open heart to everyone. At first I preferred observing things around me rather than speaking up. It’s my way of expressing myself and I enjoyed a lot, however most people feel boring to it. For me, it’s okay as long as I never step one’s freedom. As time goes by, and because of the type of my job right now, my perspective towards things change a lot. Improvements are quiet run through. It’s like moving a mountain that only time can tell.
One of my best traits is to be organized. I love to work if my workplace is in order. I won’t start a new thing if the first one is not yet done well. I feel peace, secure, motivated, inspired and it helps me think so clear- that my objectives for the day will be successfully achieved. Secondly, I look at things beautifully-because I am reminded of the message from an author says, “ Life is worth living for, and worth dying for”. It’s on us on how we dealt our lives.
Becoming Me
My mom has a great impact for who I am today. We really indeed so close to each other. Sometimes we used to do things together like in the picture. When I was a child I learned many things to her. Like waking up so early in the morning just to do some household chores. I always helping her. That’s always our routine every day. She kept on teaching me numbers, on how to skip counting and a lot more. That’s why I love numbers today. I used to follow her advises and reminders that keep me right now being a principled woman. There were times in my life today that she recalled my tantrums when I was a child. That when I cried in the morning it will continuously in the afternoon. But if my day starts no crying, my mood until afternoon is so nice. It seems recalling my days in my childhood is part of our bonding with my mother. And I love it so much. She is also very supportive to all of us-siblings. Especially in our studies, activities in school, and attended all our daily needs. I wanted to spend my time to her because I consider her as my light. During the darkness in my life, her advises and reminders keep me strong and guided me along the way. She always told me to fight and always be brave in facing challenges. Believing oneself and have faith to God. All those reminders made me into an independent woman and ready to face any challenge that life may take in the future.
The Path that Shaped Me
In every chapter of one’s life, new things happened.
As I grow and came to the right age for study, I am a kind of student who really focused and determined. Once I started, I will not stop until I succeed. There was always fun in my elementary years. A had a lot of friends- usually boys, because I played challenging games like marbles, rubber band, slipper game, and “patentero”-where those were for boys. And I seldom to play like Chinese garter and jackstone-preferably that’s for a girl thing. I also excelled in my studies and got a Valedictory Award in my 6th grade. My journey continued in secondary level. It was like a dim place to hide on. I say this because I am new to the place and I don’t have classmate from elementary years. However this courageous girl who wanted to learn more, was able to handle things right and got few true friends that until now we still good friends. I focused on my academic aspect only because I don’t have anything to be offered. I don’t have talent in singing or even in dancing or hosting a program. That’s why for the whole secondary stage I got 3rd Honorable mention which I am so happy and contented. For me, ranking is not a big deal, whether you ranked as the first or in the last as long you did the best of everything in your studies. College life is more complicated. It was there that I experienced having classmates of different courses with different level. There was a time that I am the only girl in the classroom and all of them were graduating in engineering course, here comes I am a freshman student taking up education. At first I’m so nervous but later I realized, I came there to study and not to find friends. Experiences teaching us to be brave in all times. To make it short, I graduated as one of the Academic Excellence Awardees batch 2006.
I continued my studies in graduate school and graduated last 2018. I am thankful and blessed to have parents who are very supportive in all aspects. For everything I’ve been through, I’m deeply thankful—most of all to our Almighty God. In Him, all is possible.
In the Classroom and Beyond!
To be an educator is not an easy task. Your expectation towards things around - might not exist. That’s why I set my mind to be realistic. I always practice dealing students at their level. I am always telling them to enjoy and to do their job being a student, because that’s the time that they will realized how and why they coming to school and learn.
I am a strict when it comes to my classes but approachable, kind and courageous teacher. Strict because I need to make them realized that life is not easy. There are times that they feel difficulties in all aspects. I teach them how to deal with it through the application I gave them in my lessons.
Being an approachable teacher make them realized how to be flexible in their lives. I also listen sentiments of my students. From that I will be learning of their lives and know how to handle them in my classes.
Not all people can give kindness to anyone especially they are not blood related. I always telling them, if they always have the heart to help then that is kindness. To be kind has something to do with your grade but also it has something that everybody feels that they belong and feel respected in their own pace.
I am a teacher who do things positively even there is no assurance of success. I always believe that if there is a will of doing things, there is always a lot of ways to make-and that is courage. Like, dealing diverse learners. A lot of effort, understanding and even love are needed to apply with.
For how many years dealing with students. Every year corresponds different batches of learners. For that, me as a teacher, needs to innovate my learning styles that suit to the learners’ needs. That’s why I need to connect myself to the outside forces. Like attending seminars and workshops. Lately I was one of the resource persons in the TRAINING ON THE REVISED K TO 10 BASIC EDUCATION CURRICULUM- Mathematics 8. I am pleased and learned a lot especially to the responses of every teacher in all participating school in both districts-the East and the West. I am also given a chance to do a Demonstration Teaching to both Elementary and Secondary teachers. Their participation made me realized how teaching styles so important in dealing different learning styles of students in my station.
I am not only dealing with my students inside the classroom but also I am a friend to my colleagues. I am a good listener to them. I also enjoyed sharing meaningful thoughts, laugh and had fun together in both inside and outside of school. I love to spend time with them eating, playing badminton, going out for food and doing such window shopping. These strengthen our bond as colleagues, and friends.
There were two major activities that I attended outside of school. The upper part of the picture that was the feeding activity. This will be done in every December of the year. Last year was our 10th year of the making. It’s a decade of serving people in our municipality. And the lower part was our activity in the church. We will do it ones a week.
Making connections to the people in the community is a fulfilling task. Anyone can serve people as long you are open to do so. No difficult situation if one accept and willing to learn. That’s how I valued life.
This picture was taken a month ago, when my younger sister came from abroad. There was lacking-and that’s our father. He died a couple of years ago, but still he was always here in our hearts. When it comes to family, I am really a family oriented. I wanted to see them improved especially in financial aspect. I’m a loving and supportive daughter—someone they can count on through the good times and bad times. To my nephews and niece, I’m their kind and caring Tita, always there to cheer them, lift them up, and be present in their lives. I treat them as my own children, that’s why I feel sad if there were something happen to them-bad. I always check on them, telling some advises and reminding them of being a good and filial to their parents, to their grandparents in both sides, me-as their tita, and my other siblings. I stand by them with love and guidance. Even now that we are apart, we keep on talking thru video calls. The connections never ended, it’s a matter of constant communication where everybody feels important.
Hobbies and Interests: "Little Joys and Quiet Passions"
When I was in college, I love to write something especially in my leisure time. I had fun in reading and sometimes I put into writings. Anything that can captured my interest. That’s why I created some mini notes where I put all those interesting words or phrases or even definitions of words I seldom encountered. Until now I had fun reading those old mini notes of mine. And now I realized that my penmanship is just the same. That simple realization made me smile and contented. I also love collecting shoes and sandals. In the picture those are some of them that I cared for. This hobby was really came up after my father left us. At that time I lose some sense of happiness. Because my father and I were always a partner in the kitchen. We loved cooking together. He was my assistant when I cook anything. When he died my interest was divert into collecting some things that made me smile and happy.
Finding My Voice on Hive
Few months ago one of my colleagues - share a bit of information about the Hive. I am so curious and when she told me about there is an orientation I volunteer myself to be one of the invited guests to attend the said orientation. That was the time I met Sir @vinzie1, who introduced me to Hive in full information. At first, I was confused and no idea on how to do it. But he really explain to us and by exploring it, I understand and wanted to try so badly. I was amazed of the chances not only earning an extra money but also to contribute ideas, thoughts, stories and to inspire others thru writing. As what I had said, I love to write something. Writing has always been something that I’ve enjoyed. I want also to mention @wittyzell . I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of this community, where I can keep learning, growing, and be an inspiration to the young ones.

Welcome to Hive @noddie21!
Glad you’re here and I’m amazed reading your life story.
Being organized I think is mostly the traits of people who are in the mathematical side. 😅 Or maybe not..?
I also like that you’re teaching your students that life isn’t easy. It’s a good reality check so that when they get older, they’ll learn to apply what they’ve learned from their younger years, how to overcome it and be able to handle it well. Also they’ll be more appreciative in the future.
Anyhow, tons of communities here on Hive that you can check out. If you can’t find one, just let me know 😉
See you around!
And hope to read more from you!
