Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome to my blog! Our game continues a successful year in 2025. It won the Blockchain Game Awards Best Card Game for 2025. Splinterlands is truly one of the best web3 game out there. Before the year ends, there are some exciting updates to our game. Winterfest was released last week offering new holiday skins and seasonal ruleset. Two new cards are announced and one went live today after maintenance. The most exciting update is the Avatars and Exemplars where we can customize our in game avatar and create our own card called an Exemplar!

Blockchain Game Awards Best Card Game of 2025.

The 2025 Blockchain Game Awards is an annual event celebrating excellence in blockchain based gaming and Web3 ecosystems. It’s organized by PlayToEarn, one of the first platforms to host a dedicated awards show for crypto gaming, and has grown into a major community driven recognition in the industry. It honors the best blockchain games, content creators, guilds, and ecosystems. It highlights innovation, community engagement, and impact in the world of Web3 gaming. Splinterlands took the top honors in the best card game category beating Animix (3rd place) and Legend of Arcadia (2nd place) among other games. I'm proud that the game we're passionately playing for more than five years received such recognition.

Winterfest

Winterfest is upon us. We can buy new holiday skins to make our cards more interesting. They are sold in the rewards shop for Glints depending on their rarity.

We can also buy gift boxes that contain goodies such as packs, skins and Glints. There's a lot of value in each pack that's more than worth the price of the gift boxes. The boxes can be opened or sent as a gift to your friends. The generous gift worth $25 contain a spellbook code that you can give to your friends to invite them to play Splinterlands.

Cloveria Morth'lana Voucher Card

Cloveria Morth'lana is the new Voucher card. She's already available for purchase today for 250 Vouchers per BCX. She's an epic, Life splinter card of the elven race. She deals four ranged damage at max levels. Here's the announcement post about her.

Elowen Sylphie New Conflicts Airdrop

Elowen Sylphie is a legendary archon that can be obtained from Conflicts airdrop. She's an Earth splinter and grants Bloodline Dominion buffs to Avian and Mundane Beasts, introducing new possible combos and synergies. She grants the ability, Charge to both races. She's also a tactics archon, granting Trample and Resurgence to two units. She was announced in this post.

Avatars and Exemplars

This is my favorite announcement so far. Avatars and Exemplars further make our game unique for every player. We can now customize our own avatar and even create our own card.

There are a lot of customizations to make our avatar unique. We can choose our own race, appearance, outfits, backgrounds and frames. We can even create our own card called exemplar the same way.

Our very own card's appearance is the same as our avatar but this has stats and abilities that we can customize and level up. The look and feel is similar to what we can see in Splinterlands cards. There's mana, splinter, rarity. Then there's the stats and abilities that we can unlock with Glints. The exemplar is not just a skin or cosmetics. It's a real card that has utility in the game. Exemplars can be used in tournaments, challenges and guild brawls. Imagine, our own card that we designed and levelled up just like a character in an RPG that we can use in game. I haven't done mine yet as I don't want to mess it up. But I'm going to prepare by saving some Glints and also Merits for the next update in guild brawls.

Final Thoughts

It has been a great year for Splinterlands starting with the release of Conclave Arcana set and numerous game updates including the Campaign mode and land development. I'm looking forward to the next year and I'm confident the team will deliver more exciting updates to our game.
