Strolling Bonifacio Global City (BGC) with my family - an ordinary walk turned into a fun and meaningful bonding experience.

Hello Hivers! How’s life lately? Exciting? Fun? Exhausting? Magical? Oh well, life and its mystery.

Just like this striking water-rock sculpture called “Specific Gravity”, an attraction at the very center of Bonifacio High Street. This was designed by an artist named Reg Yuson. A boulder supported by stainless steel arms, positioned over a water fountain. You can actually play with water here and rest assured the rock won’t fall no matter how heavy it may look. Cool, isn’t it?

You see, this is my first time to post in this community, The Daily Life, but I have been around for a month now. Most of my previous posts were about food. Today, let me share with you a simple walk to the business district of my city - the Bonifacio Global City or simply known as BGC. This is a high-end community as most restaurants, commercial and residential spaces are really expensive. However, this is a place where nature and the city come together. Here’s why.

First, this center of town has many green parks. My top most are Terra 28th (28th Street) and Track 30th (30th Street). These are small parks but not tiny enough to run or cycle around. You can do some exercises here, practice some dance moves, have a picnic with friends and family, take tons of selfies or just simply be lost in your thoughts. In fact, they have scooters that you can rent to stroll around if you get tired just by walking. It is also safe for children to jump or run around. They can even chase butterflies.

Second, it is clean. Everywhere you go in BGC it is well-maintained. They have designated trash cans so people are motivated to clean as they go and be responsible enough to throw their garbage properly.

Third, it is pet friendly. In fact, they have a designated park for pets called “BGC Central Bark.” Here, you can take the leash off your doggos and let them wander around. Of course, with your strict supervision in case they get lost (hehe). This is also a perfect place to catch up with other fur-parents and talk about their fur-babies.

Fourth, the streets are safe. They have traffic lights for each corner of the street to make sure pedestrians can cross safely. In fact, you can take your time crossing the street and even snap some photos like you're modeling because the streets here aren't usually too congested. That said, traffic conditions can vary, and I don't recommend doing this often. It’s always better to stay safe than sorry. Drivers know to give way and the traffic lights themselves enforce discipline for both drivers and pedestrians.

Lastly, you will never go hungry. There are restaurants of your choice anywhere. You can choose from a wide range of cuisines, from international dishes to local favorites, fine dining to shabu-shabu, premium cuts of meat to fresh vegetables, they've got it all. You just have to check your budget because as mentioned earlier, this is a high-end area so the restaurants may be a bit pricey. Nonetheless, you can always find something to eat that is affordable. There are fast-food restaurants but you just have to look for them.

If strolling is not your cup of tea, you can stay indoors and go shopping. There are a lot of stores to check out. Clothing and apparels? Perfumes? Household items or decors? - yes, you can shop until you drop! 😁
If all the walking makes you tired, you can always look for benches where you can sit and relax. They have really wide and bigger spaces for seating. This is to encourage sharing and probably making new friends. Hahaha.

There are also shades on the pathway to protect you from the direct sunlight. However, these are not waterproof so if it rains, you may get wet. So if you anticipate that it’s going to rain, better look for a place to take cover and stay dry.

In conclusion, this is a great place to pass the time, take photos, relax and enjoy the company of your friends.

Tip: If you want to save, pack your own food. You can have it in the park or on nearby benches.

It was an afternoon packed with laughter, an affordable meal and fun bonding with my family.

Thank you so much for reading and happy strolling!

Photos are mine. Taken with Samsung Galaxy A26.

BGC will always be our favorite place to hang out and unwind. Every weekend we went here just to roam around.
