Today, I found myself in the tranquil Sawangan village, close to Nusa Dua, waiting for my client in front of a charming villa. With some time to spare, I decided to take a walk across the concrete path, letting the peaceful surroundings draw me in.
As I wandered down the path, I noticed a variety of plants and bushes. Many of them had a brownish hue, likely due to the heat. Although the temperature was around twenty-nine degrees, it felt much hotter, like thirty-five.
Despite the dominant brown, there were still patches of greenery. Some plants were clearly there for decoration, while others grew naturally, adding to the charm of the area.
I also spotted a fruit plant that took me back to my childhood. The local security guard mentioned that he didn't know its name, but I believe it's called cermai. I remember tasting this fruit as a child—it has a unique flavor that's bitter, sour, and quite strange. The sight of it brought back many memories.
Every now and then, I could feel a hot breeze blowing through, adding to the intensity of the heat. As I walked, I heard birds singing in the distance. Although they flew away quickly, making it hard to see them clearly, their songs added a soothing background to my stroll.
My short walk soon came to an end as I reached the end of the track. I noticed a security guard with a buggy nearby. Curious, I asked him what he was up to. He mentioned he was doing his rounds, so I asked if I could join him. I needed to get back to where I started, which was about fifteen minutes away.
Feeling the heat at that moment, I hopped onto the buggy, thankful for the ride back instead of walking.
