New Friends Gained, A Truly Wholesome Day!

Yey! I got to meet new friends who visited us today. They actually came from Bohol after attending a wedding from another city. They came to visit a friend and at the same time explore our province. So today we welcomed them happily as they joined us with our Christian meeting.

I was surprised to meet someone whom I just met last month during a volunteer work in Cebu. It was truly funny and we have concluded how small the world is in our organization. A first time meeting would actually feel like you have already met them before. We shook hands, hug each other, talked and took pictures together. A picture of unity despite the chaotic and divided world.

In the afternoon, we have a volunteer work, visiting houses to share words of comfort from God's work. So there were a lot of us since they joined us. After, our afternoon event, we went to a sisters home. As we arrived, my friends have started distributing ice scramble to everyone for free. It is actually their part time business but they are giving it to everyone for free. They were so hospitable and generous!

The ice scramble looks so delicious. It is a Filipino frozen dessert made from shaved ice with milk and food coloring. It could be added with toppings such as chocolate syrup marshmallows, candy sprinkles with stick-o. My thirsty feeling was really quenched and my sweet craving is satisfied. We bought breads to pair with the cold drink, Wait! There's more, another sister of us brought some fruits like rambutan and jackfruit. It was a tummy loaded afternoon.

As we enjoy the food and drinks, we continue to share stories and words of encouragement especially in our volunteering work. And, we were surprised that they also brought us pasalubong or gifts from their place of origin. We have many visitors today, and even if I have asked for all of their names, I might also forget but never the smiling faces. We believe we will get to see each other again somewhere else as long as we are in Jehovah's loving and united organization.

It was getting dark, so after a long time of talk and shared laughters, we bid our farewell and wish them a safe trip because they are going to travel back home the next day.

What a truly joyful day! Hope you had a joyful one too.
