Items Found- A General Cleaning Fulfilled at Last!

We have long thought of having a general cleaning at home. Yet, many times it has always been postponed. But because were expecting visitors the next days, we have agreed to finally execute it. I'm not really sure if I sounded forced or motivated. Haha. With the help of my two younger brothers and mom, we started cleaning up as the sun shone. Also grateful for the fine weather.

Even before starting, I already felt confused where to begin with. There are lots of boxes and plastics we needed to sort. I even felt sad to discover that some of my valued documents and pictures were already damaged by mold and insects. Some were testpapers and projects I kept during my college years which was 10 years ago. I was still happy to see my test papers with high scores and that really made me reminisce how dedicated I was as a student, the sleepless nights I spent to finish making the projects that ended as a pile of junk now. They have not been touched for many years. Sadly, we threw a lot of books and stuff that were no longer readable.

Few minutes after starting, we felt hungry. Timely, mom has finished preparing breakfast. She prepared fried rice mixed with some left over sausages and some cheese. It was yummy. We really ate a lot. After eating, all of us focused in continuing the work.

I am so happy to see both of my brothers helping each other and dedicated to work as I just usually often see them fighting and too focused on their phones. They were able to take a break from screen today. They really played a big role in carrying heavy stuff and cleaning the walls and floors while mom and I were organizing and sorting things. Imagine sorting clothes, books and documents in a box after another.

I may have felt sad for some of my items that were already damaged but I also felt happy because I found some of my things that I have been looking for a long time. I was happy to find my favorite clothes which I thought were already given away. I hoenstly found a sack of my favorite clothes. I also found some usable slippers, shoes and bags that have some coins inside. I also found our very old family pictures, they maybe stained but they really brought back memories of my very young self. So I already found myself immersed in looking at old pictures that I forgot we need to finish quickly. Anyway, these finds actually made the cleaning worthwhile, fun and exciting.

We may felt really tired from the whole day cleaning. It took us late night buw we still were not done. We still have to finish few things the next day. Still, we felt accomplished and happy with the teamwork. Because of everybody’s hard work, we deserve a yummy dinner.
