A pleasant day to everyone! Today I visited our poultry yard.I recently started a business with my brother. You can tell through the pictures, that we started growing broiler chickens to sell.

My younger brother has earned a certificate for poultry rasing after taking a month of training in a vocational course from TESDA. To apply his learnings into practice and after examining the costs, I helped him with the capital to start the business. I could say that he's eager and determined to take good care of the business.

This is already our second cycle of growing broiler chicken. Starting was really costly as we had to set up the place for the chicks and we needed to buy the materials for long time use like feeders and waterers. In addition, we have to secure sacks of feeds which differs depending on how many weeks they'll be grown.
Today, a new set of chicks came. We ordered 100 chicks. When they arrived, I find them so cute but I also pity them knowing why they're being raised. Honestly, this is one reason I felt hesitant to start this business. But since, I'm not living with my family I thought, I wouldn't see them everyday. I just visit them sometimes, that's what I thought.

Aside from the newly arived chicks, we already have grown broilers ready for harvest. I would say growing chickens is also a stress reliever. It feels happy to see them grow and I would say we have talented chickens who could split.

We also have a delivery today. A customer ordered 10 live chickens so we have to deliver it to them. Part of me is feeling sad especially that I need to go with the delivery. Can you imagine how I felt while putting the chickens inside the boxes and personally delivering them to the customer? I felt like sending my precious beloved dog to another owner. I really felt guilty as we travel and as I carried those boxes with the chickens. We don't have a car, so we travelled through our motorbike. It was a 30 minute drive and it was so tiring carrying the boxes side by side.

When we arrived, we released the chickens to their new cage. They were given food and water by the new owner. They said they're still going to grow them. Then we're paid for the chickens. My sadness and exhaustion were replaced with a smile due to our first ever sale. Haha.
So we left to go back home but I still can't forget the chickens thinking what would happen to them on the days ahead. I am feeling sad sending the chickens but I also I felt accomplished having tried a business with my siblings and how we worked hard together to make it work. For the first time together we experienced being paid upfront and enjoyed the fruit of our labor by eating some delicious snacks.
I'm not sure, how long we can keep this business but it is a fun experience.
