A Very Busy Day! Succeeding the Challenge of Hosting and Entertaining Visitors

How was your day? Hope you had a great one. As for me and my family, we had a tiring yet fulfilling day.

We actually had our worship in the morning and in the afternoon it was agreed to have a bonding by the beach and dinner at home. Our brothers and sisters in faith are coming over and there are also some other visitors from another place. We expected a lot of people visiting us today.

We love people visiting us. But another reality is the challenge of cleaning the house and preparing the food especially my mom offered to prepare most of the food. We really did not have enough sleep a day before because we were cleaning the whole night and arranging things to accomodate the people in our tiny home. Honestly, I also have this introvert side when I don't really feel like seeing a lot of people. But of course, to be a good host, we would want to be hospitable.

Anyway, some of our dear brothers and sisters helped us in preparing the food. I was truly grateful with their help as my mom and I were so busy entertaining other visitors. Some of them are already enjoying swimming at the beach which is just nearby our house while we are still preparing some additional food for lunch.

It was already time for lunch but the all the food that were supposed to be served are not completely ready. Good thing, we have some snacks prepared that made our visitors not totally hungry yet. It is past noon when we were able to bring all of the food into the table which we set along the beach. We have kutsinta, puto cassava, spaghetti, lumpia, fishball and roasted milkfish.

We really enjoyed the food and we were happy to see our visitors enjoying as well. The sea is also calm so some enjoyed swimming, others are busy chatting and some even enjoyed catching sea urchins.

We have succeeded with our noon plan but we need to plan again for dinner. Good news was that one of my friends offered his two raised chicken. We agreed to have it roasted. My mom also prepared pancit. So while some of our visitors are still at the beach, we went back home to finish cleaning up and prepare for dinner.

A little later, the visitors came from swimming and I was totally amazed that we just fit in our tiny home. After changing clothes, we have them seated in the living area which just actually served as our bedroom. We just have limited seats, so some of them just actually seated on the floor. Anyway, our visitors are not really sensitive yet the are flexible and adaptable used into simple life. And we were reminded, it is not the house that matters but it is the company.

So, we spent the rest of the time chatting again, laughing together at each other's jokes and encouraging one another. We also enjoyed karaoke.

Being the host has really been challenging for us. From setting up the venue and preparing the food. But it was never burdensome as we got friends who helped and assisted us. We also had a great time with our visitors today.

Thanks for taking a time to read. Until next time.
