Good day, Hivers! How have you been? What's been keeping you busy lately? Well, let me share you mine. This is the first time I'm gonna share this to everyone what my husband and I were up to lately.
And since I don't have much to do right now because it's raining again outside, I thought I might as well write my first blog post in this community.
This area is going to be the place where we will build our dream house together with my husband. The lot has an area of 500 square meters. The first time we saw the area, we immediately bought it (It was half the price per square meter compared to the first one we inquired about. lucky, right?), not only was it affordable, but because it’s also just a few steps away from the beach, which is perfect because my husband and I love the sea. Yes, we both love the sea. My husband is a dive master and he also enjoys sparefishing. It's his way of having fun and de-stressing. And I always pray for his safety wherenever they do sparefishing with his friends.
This was what the area looked like when we bought it. It was all overgrown with weeds and had a lot of coconut trees. As much as we wanted to keep the trees, we couldn't because we’re going to build a house on the lot.
What we did first was, we had the weeds cleared. But it took 2 weeks to finished since the weeds were thick and dense.
After that, we had the trees cut down. I helped my husband set aside some of tree branches. It was quite exhausting since some branches were heavy for me to lift. Hahaha yikes! The fact that I'm too skiny to lift heavy objects. I needed a whole body massage after that. Not complaining. Haha
Since the coconut roots haven’t been removed yet, my husband tried to burn them to kill the roots. I am not even sure if it really worked.
Since the rainy season has already started, we noticed that the weeds are starting to grow again when we went back there.
So we had to do something to prevent the weeds from growing back quickly.
My husband bought this herbicides with the hope it would work on the weeds.
While my husband was sprinkling herbicides, I was pulling out the weeds to make sure they wouldn’t grow back. I also made sure to include the roots. And we'll be going back to the area soon to see if the herbicines really worked.
As of now, we are still looking to where we can rent a digger so we can start removing the coconut roots. That way, we can begin backfilling the area to raise the ground level and avoid flooding.
So yes, I hope you enjoyed reading my blog as much as I enjoyed writing it. Have a great day ahead!
