It’s already the 17th day of the month, December and in 3 days from today my school will be letting us go on a break for the end of year celebrations and all. But we will be given just 2 weeks break and after that we will have to resume and start our final exams to end the session. So far, I haven’t been studying to my satisfaction and that has been mostly due to my laziness as a student. We literally have classes every single day except for Saturdays and Sundays, which is not always enough for me to rest not to mention study all that was taught and even do some extra studying.
I’m not fortunate to be much of a reader but if there is one thing I’m quite lucky with, it is that I have quite a good listening ear and this has basically helped me through out my years in school. Learning has only been fun if I have a good teacher not a lecturer, but then, coming into the university, I now have to adjust this mode of learning and it’s taking a really big toll on me. Unlike usual, I have to start trying to learn and understand most things all on my own without much help from anyone.
It hasn’t been easy but I’m really happy by how much God has been helping me cope since this semester started. Now, I always try to pay more attention to those lecturers who go out of their way and teach instead of lecturing and I also do well to read through their notes when I get home to help me understand and comprehend it even better. Due to the fact that I didn’t want to miss the class of those lecturers that take their time to explain, yesterday I had to do something that on a normal day I would not want to do.
A day before yesterday, the class update was dropped on our general group chat informing us about the class for the next day and I was happy about it. On getting to school, the first lecturer came and introduced us to the topics she was taking us in that course and when she was done, we were supposed to have another lecturer but after waiting for over 3 hours, we got an update that she won’t be able to make it for the class due to an unforeseen situation that happened. It was really sad but I still stayed back at school for another 30 minutes and I decided to go home so I can rest and then study.
Immediately I got home, I received another update that the lecturer was in class. I felt so pained because I had already walked under a very scorching sun to get home and then the lecturer was in class. I thought about staying at home, eat, sleep and read but for some reasons, I did not let that thought linger long in my mind and I just took my book and head for the class. Luckily for me, I got there when she hasn’t gone so far despite the fact I walked. I asked my course mate for her note and I was able to be on the same page as them in no time.
I was really fulfilled that I had gone for that class because the lady said so many so many things that if someone wasn’t in her class, they won’t be able to really understand it. The class lasted for about 2 hours 30 minutes. I was really so hungry and tired at that point but then I still had to walk back home but this time, as slow as possible so as to grasp my breath. When I got home, I quickly showered, did a little meditation and then went into the kitchen to prepare something to eat.
After eating, I stayed up a little before sleeping for 2 hours and when I woke up, I had to start revising what was thought in class. I was still feeling dizzy though but I was able to get over it and that was how I got to accomplish my task for the day. It was really really stressful and hard but somehow God helped me and I just kept moving no matter what.
I hope today will be a lot better, because one thing is certain, I want to be even more successful than I was yesterday no matter what the day may bring and I pray God help me.
Thank you for reading through. ❤️
I was thinking I'm coming to read a daily blog that's full of rhymes of "S" when I saw the title 😅
Even the first paragraph made me think so too.
That must have been stressful, going back and forth for a class that almost didn't happen. Good you find it very beneficial in the end, well done.
Aah, it sucks when that happens but it's good you didn't lose your interest, went back to school, and learned something from your professor. I love your enthusiasm and positive outlook on your day-to-day life. !LADY

I’m glad I didn’t lose interest too. 😊
Thanks for your words of encouragement, FG. 🌹
Thank you, Amie. 🤗
I love your enthusiasm, when I was in school ones I leave the lecture hall, I don't care if the lecturer was going to give a test or not, I wouldn't go back to the class. Well done 👍
Exactly why I said it was not what I will normally do. 😂
I almost cried while going but I’m glad I did.
