Hello everyone and Neoxian City,

So today, I have finally decided to come out of my shell to present this song by Sasha Alex Sloan titled Older, and see ehn honestly, this actually feels like a small but a very important win for me.

It has been a really long time since I had the intention of joining this talent hunt, like I have watched others participate, I cheered them on silently, and told myself that maybe One day, I will do this too,n But Omo, every time that day came close, something would always hold me back, and that thing was being on camera… plus learning song lyrics, hmmm this one alone used to scare me more than it should.

Seriously, I don’t know why, but memorizing lyrics has never been my strong point, truth is, I can love a song deeply, sing it in my head, even feel every emotion in it, but once it is time to actually perform it, my brain just starts acting like it is brand new , as if it hasn't been used before, I don't know if anyone understands how that feels, so because of that, I kept postponing, i kept giving myself excuses that maybe next time, or I will think “Let me practice more.” “I’m not ready yet.”

But today, I told myself enough is enough, to think I spent a full seven days trying to learn this lyrics, seriously o seven whole days, and even after all that effort, the lyrics still didn’t stick the way I wanted them to, and at some point, I just laughed at myself because imagine trying so hard and still feeling unsure,but then I asked myself a very important question, would I let this stop me again?

The answer was no, a very loud no, so here I am, actually nervous, yes I would say, and slightly unsure, yes, but also proud of myself for finally deciding to showing up, so this is me choosing not to hide anymore and this is me choosing to try, even if it is not perfect.

So "Older" is a song that speaks a lot of truth and reflection, and I felt really connected to it in my own kinda way, the connection to this songalone gave me the courage to stand in front of my phone camera and just this presentation.
