Medicinal plants, Ginkgo biloba Medicinal plants are essential in a garden and have many advantages for both us and our vegetables. In addition, they are very easy to grow and very resistant to both diseases and pests.

Ginkgo biloba is one of the most curious medicinal plants that exist, especially because it comes from a tree from another era. It is usually known as a living fossil since it is the only living species of its kind. All of them disappeared a long time ago. It is estimated that this species appeared 290 million years ago. But to talk about Ginkgo as a tree in a more extensive way, there will be another post.

As a medicinal plant, its leaves are normally used in infusion. Its main properties have to do with the cognitive system. Which means that it improves both memory and concentration. In fact, pills are sold that students usually use during exam periods.
But it also has other properties such as antioxidants that combined with the properties for memory make it a very suitable plant for older people.

Ginkgo Biloba also has a property that is positive but that can have contraindications for some people. It improves blood circulation, but that makes it contraindicated for people who take anticoagulants for some disease.
So as I always say, if you have any condition or before using a plant that you do not know 100%, you should consult your doctor to avoid any contraindications.
