Empowering the Next Generation

Looking at myself, it still feels strange that I'm already at the age I am. I mean, it seems like a few days ago when I was quite young and looked up to others for most of my needs, including guidance about life. Well, here we are today, and the coming generations are already taking us as a mentor that should empower them in every way possible via our life experience, which I believe is a good thing, as via such, they'll not only learn from our success story and how we achieved it, but also from our failures and how to avoid falling into the same.

Talking about empowering others, I for one believe that our actions, inaction, choices, and experiences go on to shape the lives of those around us, and when we realize these, we then have a sense of responsibility for how we can empower the next generation, Personally, I believe I've already been actively impacting the next generation in many ways, although I'd love to improve on these. Because looking at what many of these next generations delve into, I can't help but admit that we aren't doing enough to instill them with the right words that'll shape their lives in the right direction.

So if you're wondering some of the ways I've been impacting the next generation, like I said, some of them are as stated below:

Teaching: Being a teacher by profession, one of my core duties is to directly shape the minds of young ones, whereby I not only instill academic knowledge but also instill discipline and encourage curiosity so it'll push them to want to know more about different things. My role isn't just centered around academics alone because I also influence their mindset, confidence, and values.

Writing and Hive Community Growth: Even though I don't usually see myself as being old on the Hive blockchain, others who are just joining the blockchain don't see this in the same light, as they usually seek individuals who are willing to teach them about how to grow and also do various things on the Hive blockchain. On several occasions I'm approached by newbies who want to know something, and I'm always open to helping and responding in the best way possible. Aside from that, I dedicated myself to teaching newbies about Hive and the nitty-gritty of it freely via the Newbies Initiative program because I knew how difficult it is to find your footing here on the blockchain.

Resilience and Life Lessons: A few months ago I was opportune to speak with some free graduates who we held a send-off program to honor their service in the church and wish them well in their lives journey, and one thing I shared with them during the course of my speech was the need to be resilient. To buttress my point, I had to share a few of my life experiences with them and how each of those experiences shaped my life and became a force that pushed me towards success. I let them know that now they're on their own, and things might, on several occasions, not go their way. They shouldn't, because of that, give up or seek dubious means to make ends meet; instead, they should persevere, seek help from the right people, and overall avoid making some of the mistakes I made.

There are several other means by which I've been impacting the next generation; for example, still in the speech I had with those fresh graduates, I still empowered them by promoting the importance of financial literacy and how it helps them make smart financial decisions, also opening doors for mentorship and support should they need me in one way or another in the near future. I, for one, believe empowerment isn't all about finances or giving someone a job; sometimes it could be a simple piece of advice, guidance, and the like.

While I'm already actively in the business of empowering the next generation, I won't want it to stop at that, as I'm open to introducing more aspects to this. We can't lie that financial employment isn't important too, so other ways I'm looking to empower the next generation are understandable: the power of digital literacy, social media, self-development, and the like, and what such can do to their lives in the near future.
