The Special Guest!

I suppose this is an interesting topic I would like to write about, as it perfectly aligns with what I have been planning since last week. It’s Christmas tomorrow, and I have a few people I'd like to invite to share in the love of Christmas with me.

We all know the reason for the season is our Lord Jesus Christ, and He instructed us to love our neighbours as He did to us. This is why I try my best to love in the right way as that is what makes Him happy and pleased.

For this season, I have a few people on my mind to invite, and some of them are the children in my church. These particular children were on my mind because they aren’t from a rich family and I wouldn’t want to call them poor, though they are from a struggling family.

The reason for this was to spread love to them, especially if they can’t celebrate Christmas the way they wanted to, and I have decided to do the honour, and it’s to the glory of God. I am someone who wants to obey the Word of God and we have been commanded to show hospitality, even to the poor among us.

It’s also my way of expressing my love for the children because Jesus loves little children; He said to the disciples not to send them away but to let them come to Him because the Kingdom of God is likened to them. This means whoever loves and embraces children is loving Christ.

I reached out to their mother in church yesterday that I would like to invite her kids to my place on Christmas Day, and she didn’t hesitate. Jesus said it is more blessed to give to those you know won’t be able to pay back because that’s true giving.

I feel so good doing this. These children are special guests to me and I would gladly welcome them to my home to celebrate with me. The book of Proverbs says that if we refresh others, we will also be refreshed.

I don’t really have any special connections to this but the fact that they are children who should be loved and to make them know they are cared for, too. They might not have enough, but they are God’s children, we must care for because it’s our responsibility. I do not look forward to anything from them other than their smiles when they eat and drink and knowing they celebrated Christmas with me.
