This is one of the biggest questions many of us face, especially when deciding what path to take in life: should I follow my passion or chase the money? Trust me, I’ve asked myself this question more times than I can count. At first, it feels like you have to choose one or the other, but over time, I’ve realized that the answer isn’t so black and white.
Let’s start with passion. Passion is that thing that keeps you up at night because you're so excited about it. It’s the work you would do even if no one paid you. For me, I’ve always believed that when you’re passionate about something, it gives you energy, drive, and creativity. Think about people like Steve Jobs. He was passionate about design and technology. His passion led to the creation of Apple, a company that not only made a huge impact but also made him incredibly wealthy. Passion can lead to money, but it takes time, patience, and a lot of hard work.
Now, on the flip side, money is important. Let’s be real, we all need money to survive. Bills don’t pay themselves, and passion doesn’t put food on the table – at least not immediately. I’ve seen people pick careers they’re not passionate about just because it pays well. And honestly, sometimes it works. They’re able to live comfortably, support their families, and enjoy the finer things in life. But what I’ve also noticed is that after a while, if the passion isn’t there, the job becomes draining. The money may be good, but the soul feels tired.
I remember a friend of mine who studied accounting because it was a “safe” and high-paying job. But deep down, he always loved photography. After five years of working in a firm, he felt miserable. He finally took a bold step, saved some money, and started his photography business on the side. Today, that side hustle is now his full-time job, and he’s doing what he loves – and making decent money too.
So, what’s the conclusion? Personally, I believe the sweet spot is finding a balance. Start with passion, but be smart about it. Ask yourself, "Can this passion solve a problem or serve others?" If yes, then it can become profitable. Build it slowly while still earning from a stable job if needed. Don’t rush to quit your job, but also don’t ignore your passion.
In the end, money fades, but passion keeps you going. And when passion starts to pay your bills, that’s when life feels truly fulfilling. So instead of choosing one over the other, why not choose both – with wisdom, patience, and persistence.
Thanks for your time.

This is true but people don’t know. When you begin with passion, it’ll be easier for you to go through whatever that career throws at you.

Sometimes too some people's passion align with very good income, 😄 lucky ones .
Any ways you are right finding a balance between too works but it might require persistence and courage
