Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

So many years ago the established order was house chores, cooking, tending to the family and every other domestic chore was the woman's responsibility while providing for the home and whatever was required was meant for men but today the world is changing and so are certain rules, traditions and other norms changing as well.

Everything that used to be considered taboo is gradually becoming a norm. Civilisation has left a huge mark on all of us and it’s safe to say that we are all on the right path as the world is not what it used to be so many years ago.

What’s your take on men helping out in the kitchen in today’s world? Are you for or against it?

I really don’t mind my partner helping out in the kitchen, does he want to help out? Does he feel like doing everything in the kitchen? By all means, let him do as he wishes and I won’t object. I’d rather applaud him than stop him from helping out.

We really don’t talk about how overwhelming cooking and all other kitchen activities can be for women sometimes. Yes, we love to cook, yes we love to explore the culinary world for what it is and yes we love our family's tastebuds to be on fire when they taste the different meals we prepare but sometimes these activities can be exhausting and a little help from your partner wouldn’t hurt right? or would it?

The world has moved from having traditional men who believe the woman’s job is solely in the bedroom and kitchen, we now have men who wouldn’t mind not just helping but doing everything in the kitchen, and guess what? This doesn’t make them feel less of themselves neither does it strip them of all their manly powers and rights.

With so many women actively involved in the corporate world, the need for men to help in the kitchen is very necessary, as gone are those days when men were the only ones dominating the cooperate world.

As a result of women actively thriving in the corporate world and contributing their own quota financially as it should be, as being married means being “one flesh,” there’s absolutely nothing wrong with men helping out in the kitchen in ways that they can and mind you this is no gender equality thingy just teamwork, as the saying goes teamwork makes the dream work😃

Men should understand that helping their partners in the kitchen is not a sign of slavery but a show of affection, care, and concern and cannot in any way mean punishment or exploitation.

Helping women in the kitchen can be equated to seeing a woman carrying a heavy luggage and deciding to help her because you do care about her and wouldn’t want her to go through so much stress when you can do something about it and you wouldn’t be stressed in any way.

Parents should stop training their female children for kitchen responsibilities and leaving their male children to do whatever they want to. Male children should also be taught how to be helpful in the kitchen to avoid unnecessary arguments or debates in the future.

It costs men little or nothing to help out in the kitchen and mind you this doesn’t have to be an everyday thing. Just try to help as much as you can.
