I have been meaning to write about ChatGPT for a while now and boom! I saw this prompt, let’s just say it came at the right time.
In a world built for speed, we tap, swipe, and scroll our way to comfort. But at what cost? How is our pursuit of convenience shaping our habits, relationships, environment, and values.
I love where technology is taking us to, I mean technology is literally changing the world. It’s making everything fast and super easy, just as we humans like it.
New inventions, sophisticated tools, access to a wide array of information and so many more. All of these are actively playing parts in making humans more comfortable and happy but we keep forgetting the little things they strip us off.
Today I’ll be using ChatGPT as a case study.
ChatGPT is great, it is currently one of man’s best digital tool. You input whatever you want there and it gives you a well structured, intelligent and amazing reply and lets not forget how conversational it can be too.
ChatGPT is on our phones and PCs, making it so easy for us to go everywhere with this “digital friend” of ours. So we don’t need to worry about anything as ChatGPT always has our backs. Yay! Nice one ChatGPT!
While I appreciate this awesome digital friend of ours educating and enlightening people I have a problem with people overly depending on it.
What do people mean by they are done thinking as ChatGPT does the thinking for them? How did we get to a point where we would depend solely on a machine and not even bother to use our brains anymore?
We aren’t done with auto correct covering up educated adults who cannot spell simple words and now we are moving into an era where people don’t want to use their brains anymore?
Don’t get it twisted, I’m not against ChatGPT, I love how it comes in handy when you need answers to certain questions but I’m worried about people overly relying on it.
You ask a basic question and what follows next is “Ask ChatGPT”, what happened to making an effort? What happened to thinking critically and feeling proud because you figured it out yourself? Why do we have to lose all this because of ChatGPT?
I’ll forever love Hive for prohibiting machine generated content here. I love how we still appreciate original content. With different AI tools springing up everywhere we can’t even identify what is real and fake anymore as they all kinda look the same or even better.
As much as technology is doing a lot for us, we all need to know and understand how to use it without abusing it or losing our originality.
ChatGPT and other AI tools are great but do you know what is more special? You, your thought process, your unique way of doing things, and this cannot be downloaded or found anywhere.
This is just my two cents and it’s okay if you agree or disagree with it😃
