If I find a suitcase of $500,000, I will take it that fortune has smiled on me. Then if I later heard a public announcement suggesting that the missing suitcase belongs to a politician, my resolve will be strengthened never to return that money.
I know that two wrongs do not make a right, but I have experienced firsthand how the collective well-being of the masses in my country has been left in jeopardy.
The fact that my country is not even poor yet, due to unequal distribution of wealth, we see a majority of the masses live on the marginalized side of life, makes my decision an easy one to make.
Again, with such a huge amount of money in my possession, I believe that I can make a difference in the economy, and the fact that I will utilize the money more judiciously than the politician ever would makes my decision very justifiable.
Now, the first thing I will do with such money in my possession is to first convert it to my local currency, which will give me 750 million naira.
Next, I will divide it into percentages and use it as follows:
30% of that money, which is 225 million naira, will be used to secure myself a well-furnished home and a good car because I need to be comfortable before I can think about helping other people.
40% of that money, which is 300 million naira, will be invested into any lucrative business of choice. A business that I know will thrive, stand the test of time, and give me a substantial ROI because, in the long run, I hope to be an employer of labor and ease the high rate of unemployment and poverty ravaging the economy.
10% of that money, which is 75 million naira, will be used to support small businesses that are already thriving to do more and better. That way, their productivity will improve, and of course, more productivity equals an increase in the employment rate, which will ultimately spell prosperity for the economy.
1% of that money, which is 7.5 million naira, will go to support the running of my religious house. Yes, I am a lover of God, and how best can I show gratitude if not to support directly Its mission?
7% of that money, which is 52.5 million naira, will be shared equally among my parents and siblings as a form of support because I want them to thrive too.
2% of that money, which is 15 million naira, will be shared equally between both of my best girls, @abenad and Sharon, for their show of love and friendship. Well, Abenad can have her own in dollars since we don't use the same currency.
The remaining 10%, which is 75 million naira, will be kept in a fixed deposit account for my daughter.
Interestingly, while writing this post, I thought, What if I get caught? But then, I am quickly reminded of the story of Pablo Escobar, and it gave me the assurance that if ever I get caught and the politician wants to use the authority to punish me, the people, having heard how the money was utilized, will protect me.
